@george1234 Hey, I'm just wondering as much as everyone else, I have no idea. I was just thinking about how I wouldn't write about stuff I have no interest in if I wasn't comissioned for it, in case I was an artist, but what do I know about Kajiura's motivations? haha.
Your gay people analogy doesn't really work for me, but I'm having a hard time explaining it. I hope I can get my point across. There are many places in this world where homosexuality is not only frowned upon, but punished, even being a capital offense in a number of countries. So there are many gay artists who HAVE to write from a "straight" point of view to protect themselves, or in order to not generate controversy. Being asexual, however, isn't something that is largely frowned upon (people can be mean about it but there is no state sanctioned persecution like there is for the LBGT community), so I wouldn't really understand the artistic/marketing/etc motivation to write a number of songs about sensual stuff if you definitely have no interest in it.
Also, I don't know why you're pointing out that asexual people can have feelings when I never said otherwise? I said that I think if she were asexual she would write her love songs from a platonic point of view, and not all of them are like that.
ETA: I don't care if she's asexual or not, honestly, just exposing my point of view here. I simply would like to understand why those who proposed she IS asexual think so, because I'm curious about it. Seems like the options considered are within the ace spectrum anyway (asexual or demi) and I would like to know why, now that I have explained my reasoning.
ETA2: also because I'm already way #tooinvested in this conversation, there are many japanese artists out there who write music who never ever write lyrics describing physical attraction or anything ever remotely sexual, so it's not like it's a necessity for J-music to feature that topic that would make someone with zero interest in it decide to tackle it a few times.
