Yes, it's official. The Generation VI Pokemon game will be released nationwide [yes, nationwide unlike the usual Japan first then several moths after for other countries] for the 3DS

The announced titles are Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

Okay. I used to love fire types specially the 3rd generation. But the IV and V generations had similar fire and fighting combinations plus very ugly transformations.

Now, I think I'll go with the fire type coz the similarity with Zorua, which I find really cute :)

Also the grass type starter this time looked like oshawott :(

What happened to the design of water types :( They all suck eversince mudkip

I have to say, they have constantly improved the graphics. WOW. Combined with the 3D effect, these would all look better :0

The simple infrastructure designs are no more.

I hope they also provide AR cards. but seeing that there's already an existing AR game /Pokedex/ I doubt they will.

It felt nostalgic when the previous Pokemon titles were shown prior to the announcement of the newest series. I still have my old link cable, not sure if it is still usable though. xD

A must buy at the retail store when it is released worldwide.

Got interested in the games last year, but moving nowhere fast - I have yet to finish Blue. Despite my childhood loath for the adaptations, the games themselves prove to be fun, although I hope they work more on storylines these days - Generation 1 is mostly enjoyable if you're a grindfest nerd like me.

Also wondering if they're planning sequels like last generation. Because if it will be an updated rerelease like in older times, I feel I could win good money by betting it to be called Pokemon Z.

Wow at last a proper Pokemon game, the 2d system that all the portable pokemon games had (with the exception of Colosseum and Gale of Darkness) was getting really old fashioned,

Also it seems like they run out of colours so they now use letters.

I guess you mean worldwide, because nationwide mean only in 1 country and a second I thought that only Japan would be getting it

I think stuff like pokemons looks better in 2D. btw, Fennekin's one of the cuter starters I've seen so far.

Agree with Nick, I think pokemon is nicer is 2D...well, at least, I think the humans look cuter in 2D...but maybe the pokemon themselves as well as pokemon battles look better in 3D

Nice observation there. I looked on it at Wiki, and it then reassured me that Fennekin is not going to be a fire/fighting type when it is fully evolved.

As for the 3D environment, I guess it is going to make raising Pokemon for competitive battles a bit hard, since it may take longer time than usual to load the battle screen, do the attacks, etc.

^ For them to release such game means that 3DS is capable to run it all smoothly. There are lots of 3D or pseudo 3D games already, like Kingdom Hearts 3D (which has amazing graphics imo) that super mario game etc. Even in normal DS was also release Kingdom Hears 365/2 Days which despite the polygons on the characters during the videos has decent graphics too (much better than any current pokemon has) so I think it will make it.

i don't know about the longer time part because if you've played black and white and the sequels, you would notice the increase in battle speed... plus 3ds is way powerful than DS.

I gave up on finishing silver soul because the battle speed is too slow compared to the newer games.

I just hope they make the spin-off not in the form of a sequel -sigh-
Pokemon Z, anyone? ahahaha. Please no more Pokemon X 2 or Pokemon Y 2

Also, the only fire/fighting I loved was Torchic's evolutions... hated the next fire-fighting :9

Also, I'm anticipating the port of third generation on the 3ds :)

Yes that's what I think so too regarding the overall performance, but for those who want to concentrate on breeding Pokemon for competitive battles they see that as a small disadvantage over playing using a DS. Of course 3DS games played on the 3DS takes more power than when playing using a DS cartridge, and so on...

As I am also one of those who are becoming active in competitive battling, I can't agree or disagree with them until I can play the game though. I'm really expecting for some new type combinations of Pokemon!

They need to rework typing effectiveness IMO.
My gen 6 wish:
- Viable offensive hail poke/ability, atm hail is kinda meh compared to SS/Rain/Sun.
- Rework typing resistance, poison should be buffed as it is worst offensive typing atm.
- Ghost/Steel+Levitate or Ghost/Fighting Poke

Most of the legendary types are repetitive: mostly dragon and psychic
:( I only capture them for Pokedex but never actually used anyone of them in battles; plus the fact that it's really hard to level up with them.

Can't they also change Dragon-type as the last gym?

Isn't it also about time to introduce new types? Albeit they may update the types of many moves.

I never actually used any of the following types in battle: rock, ground, steel, poison, dark, and ghost.

I forgot the normal types ahahaha. \(^0^ )

But because of the free Zorua from B2/W2, I started to take a liking with the Dark-types.

Actually my brother uses the lendary pokemon all the time after he catches them, and loves to beat the championship with them alone

Too bad when it comes to tournaments, the legendaries are restricted most of the time. You'll be surprised that a level 1 Aron can beat virtually almost any type except Ghost types if you do not know how to deal with it.

I hope for no more legendary dragon types for Gen 6 as well.

Fairy type confirmed. Dragon abusers beware *myself included*.
*Why fairy? Because in fairy tales, the dragons are always beaten, right?*

Character customization (Yes! Change skin color and clothes!)
Sky battles (only done by Flying types and ones with Levitate ability)
Wild Horde battles (5 wild pokemon versus 1 *Imagine Snorlax*)

I would want that fairy type because leveling an ice-type and a dragon-type = difficult and tedious

Jigglypuff, Marill, Gardevoir are confirmed to move to the <half> fairy type

Now I wanna buy that new pokemon. But I'm will wait for a spin-off game like the emerald, and the platinum. It's sad that black and white didn't have one.

After playing the game (X) along with my brother I have to say its the best pokemon game since gold and silver, there were so many new things to it in many aspects: bast graphics of all games, nice musics, awesome gym mechanisms (that were making going to battle every pkm gym leader a very nice experience -same for the elite four), finally well drawn characters, funny dialogues, interesting plot (first time had a flashback in video), etc. and its the first time the characters seemed to really have a character. The only complain I have is that almost all the battles were too easy, I beat the gyms and the pkm league without griding at all.

I am now planning on buying the CD soundtrack, and currently I am now just breeding to make good Pokemon that are best suited for wireless battles.
