I guess this is 'old news' but I finished Your Lie in April not long ago, and everyone seems to be talking about Hibike! Euphonium atm so I expect "anime shows about classical music" will crop up in conversation again.
I got through all three anime seasons of this in little over a week. It's that good. The comedy is a bit slapstick, but the romance was great and there's the music. Oh yes.
If you have even a passing interest in classical, you really want to check it out. There's a performance of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue that's absolutely hilarious, and a certain performance of a Chopin piano concerto a couple of episodes from the end of the third season gave me chills. I've not seen an anime show handle a story like this before - the character development especially. There are some live-action adaptations too, but I've not had chance to look into them yet. Has anyone seen those?
