7 billion humans. She must know I exist
Hope we can share some LiSA-specific thoughts mostly regarding her interaction with Kajiura's music/groups.

I enjoyed this live performance of the song, and was also pleased with the live backing vocalists and her low range. She was also switching between high and low harmony, supporting LiSA.

One thing I love about LiSA is that she always has that intensity whether live or in the studio! Her FIRST TAKE performances were vocally energetic.

I like "From the Edge"
don't know if Kalafina would've sang it had they not disbanded (at the time) but it certainly sounds like it was made for them
Yeah, coming from the perspective of hearing the TV version after each episode of "Demon Slayer" made the words (especially the English lines) hit harder. The long overdue live performance was a real treat as well, especially with LiSA and Keiko duetting at some points.

It's actually a Hikaru kinda song if you think about it. If Kalafina were to have sung it, Hikaru would be the lead and duet with Keiko the same. (I can imagine Hikaru's darker, heavier tone on the lyrics of solo sections. Wakana would be doing more of the chant/kajiurago parts layered with Yuriko's backing track.

Kajiura practically trained her action anisong writing with Kalafina, so she would have the tendency to write in a way that would accommodate their vocals (range-wise and in term of melody and harmony).

Agree about a Hikaru song if Kala did it!!!

Ah I can only dream if Kala was still around after 2018, wonder if they would’ve done any of the KnY songs 😭

I’m also super late to the party - just started watching KnY and was super pleasantly surprised to see all the YK involvement 🥹

It's a really cool story and the action animation is top-notch, especially the use of CG and the vibrant color palette and effects. The other composer who wrote the main BGM music did an excellent job! He really created an atmosphere for the show!

One thing I'd thought sadly, after learning of Kalafina's disbandment, was that I felt they had a shot with the right very successful anisong project (case in point, KnY) to go to the Kohaku new year's eve show. They were a recognizable and unique group, not because they were a 3-member group, but rather because of the musical structure, the way they did counterpoint and the choral/chant aspects of their music, all Kajiura staples and they were not like any other group in the market.

I can see Homura as Kalafina also (ok I know some peeps here don't like comparing post-2018 Kajiura works to "things that can be Kalafina" but forgive me :P)

first verse - Keiko
pre-chorus - Hikaru
chorus - Wakana

Also the more I have Homura on repeat the more it reminds me of a Saeko Chiba song.... could this have been an original piece from back in the days that Kajiura revived for present day??? Gives me nanairo no finale vibes too

I actually hear the lead in reverse.

Looking at LiSA's original, the verse is quite emotional and fragile and (in my opinion) Hikaru is better at that kind of singing than Keiko (who is stronger at singing legato). I think Keiko should take the pre-chorus instead because it has a rising feel and she can go big at the end...

Actually it's feeling more like a duet to me - Hikaru and Keiko:
  • Hikaru sings lead
  • Keiko sings pre-chorus (building the energy)
  • Hikaru and Keiko sing chorus with Wakana doing the high harmony (like Yuriko was doing in the live).
