I would be interested in hearing Kajiura and the other ladies' comments about the song.

I think it's a very quietly powerful and emotional composition, with LINO LEIA's voice floating above the steady drums, guitar, and so on.

This is already one of my favorite songs of hers. I just don't know what the lyrics mean, yet.

And she has a kinda "kajiurago" with the Belgian choir sample. 😉 👏👏👏

The lyrics are here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSpOzuoa23o , you can paste them on Deep L or other machine translation

george george george ! It's Bulgarian chant, and unmistakably so. c'mon man it's right there:XD:

The question is why is it used? It seems it's just placed there for some "artistic" effect. I mean when Xena's theme has it, it fits perfectly but here it seems a bit superfluous.

Still, Bulgarian isn't the same as Belgian though :3
oh i remember it was in Xena OP but was associating it with Amazonas back when i was watching that show 🤣 and btw bulgarians have nothing to do with the greek mytholody setting Xena is set in, as they came south much later, but whatever.

@grunty If its actually folk and not folk -style, then it doesnt have copyright.

I'm not going to argue because I don't know the details on this recorded track BUT a specific recording of a performance can still have copyrights. LL's song is using THAT specific recording in its mix, not a brand new performance of the same folk melody.

I took it for a fact, but just learned that the composer was inspired by the Bulgarian chant but couldn't secure their presence so he improvised with Japanese singers imitating the Bulgarian choir style.

I had heard the singing and assumed it was sung by them.
