She has been recording stuff for 4 consecutive days (so i bet its some soundtrack (BUT FOR WHAT??!!) , and not Kalafina songs)

Some logical guess would be some other NHK production, since not many anime or games are china-themed.
She's also complaining that the hotel doesnt have bath with hot water

Its not just inspiration because she's recording 4 days now. I Looked at summer anime and none seems to have China in, so its either a Fall one or not an anime, which makes it more possible to be something with NHK.

Like an NHK doco on China? Or maybe she's using Chinese instruments. Just a question though, I remember back in the past she also travelled to the US etc. to specially record some songs. What exactly are the reasons for that? What's the difference between having to go to another country to record and simply recording it in Japan (and if they're using specific instruments or something, to just bring the instrument to Japan instead of moving the whole thing?)

She usually goes to US because they got better studio equipment. She did that for Xenosaga II, Fiction I , II and Hokuto no Ken (the one that's released). Other times she travels just for inspiration like in Peru or Nyagara Falls. I guess this time it could be for both inspiration and recording. foreign composers are sometimes chosen for projects so theres a very small possibility that its something chinese. but i think it could be a documentary or possibly even a live action film of japanese origin. kajiura travels a lot for inspiration but then she also uses artists from the countries she travels to. for fiction i she used emily, deb, and tulivu with some american musicians. xenosaga ii, she used deb again so most likely traveled to the us to record. xenosaga iii, she used that woman whose name escapes me right now for maybe tomorrow and deb again for tracks not released on the official album. hokuto no ken i believe was only that nicolette person. what really confuses me is her purpose for coming for everlasting songs because the only song that seems a bit different in mixing was houseki and took photos in a park. i dunno why she does this xD

Fiction II had Clara Kennedy for "I swear" and also 3 new songs by Emily Bindiger (+ chorus for I swear)
she also used some NY based mixing staff for it.

I hope for some chinese vocals if that's the case :D

For Xenosaga 2, she went to NY to work with Deb Lyons, Margarted Dorn, Jerry O’Sullivan, and the Dunn Pearson Strings Orchestra.
And for Hokuto no Ken, Nicolette Grogoroff, and The Dunn Pearson Orchestra.

As for why she's in China, well it really could be anything. I doubt it's Historia because the new season already started.

I'm guessing drama as well. I'd prefer an anime ost since those usually get more insert songs, but her instrumental pieces were more than on point for HtA so I'll be glad with whatever we get. And just to be sure, she is recording in China right now?

The new project will be probably get announced in one of the YK vol 12 lives, and I bet she could even perform one of the BGMs as teaser

Maybe she'll get new inspiration for Kalafina (One Light)? Kalafina needs fresh melody. Maybe song (or a part of song) will be in china style?

Yasashii Yoake is pretty Chinese (more so Oriental) in its musical style. She can definitely pull it off if that's the case. I mean, we had Kalafina go all out Egyptian in te to me to me and Yami no Uta, so more diversity is definitely welcome.
