i love this.
Edit: I tend to be a lot nicer than I seem, but I am going to be very honest now. Because I am a perfectionist.
Although I do, appreciate your efforts, I have some criticism. I am going to be honest. But I feel like I have to go a little easy seeing that you aren't a trained singer.
Paradise Regained: I don't like the reverb. I see the direction you are going for, but the type of reverb you used needs to be improved. Maybe thats because I love effects, it sounds too "microphone". Although I do love the last note and how you held it for so long. Not a lot of untrained singers can do that. And most of the time when people sing with no vibrato then those long notes tend to go out of key, yours did not.
Serenato: Most of the times your higher notes get a little off pitch, this is another fact is because you aren't trained, but I suggest maybe taking a vocal class in college, just one if you get a chance and learn the proper techniques. You have potential to be very professional sounding, so keep it up.
Love Come Down: The background vocals sound too much like they are in metal sewer pipe. I love the higher background vocals though and the effect you used on them. But I can tell your singing range from this. This seems to be your proper range. The kajiuran is fantastic though.
Lacrimosa: I do miss the melody in the opening Kajiuran. It is missing that flair. I feel the background vocals are not as lost in the mix as they were. Your voice sounds slightly nasally in this song. But overall this is another good one. The kajiuran is definitely lacking that higher melody. Is it because it is hard to hit those notes or you wanted to make it "your own"? Doing the Lacrimosa, Dies Illa, part, The lower vocals drown out the higher vocals.
Lirica: Another range comment. I feel like the higher notes are getting you. I like the blending of the vocals and background vocals on this song. It is together most of the time. But the thing that kills you is the presence of the original vocals. Another good job on the Kajiuran. 3:15 the kajiuran part sounds slightly strained but you pull it off well. And the ending sounds like your out of breath. But another well job done on the held note. Its not out of key, just slightly out of breath.
Progressive: I really like the speed change. Although at certain points it sounds too rushed, but then again, the whole song has a new adrenaline rush. And the "we Go far"s are put together well. Another good job on the blending. I missed the Kajiuran chorus during the bridge and guitar solo. Another higher note issue, not major but it sounds strained at some points. But a way to hit those notes better if you breath deeper and keep on singing the higher notes. Your voice will get naturally used to it and hit those notes a lot better.
Sprinter: I hear this on Youtube. This is one of the better ones on your "album". I give you props you on the middle section. it is put together flawlessly, because even I am having trouble on it, but thats because I am singing it in a higher pitch. But i like the use of the stereo effects. Another held note congrats. "Yukunda". Although it gets slightly flat, but isn't prominent to notice it. I like the ending better, I think you should sing like this on the other ballads. Very soft and it sounds good.
Overall Notes: the thing that can make it a little off is the background vocals and the way they are mixed. Now i know you don't have a proper recording mic and that can effect the recording big time, but the way they are mixed, it is too dark mixing wise, perhaps make it brighter with the EQ if you can. Also, I think most notes are pushed because you are trying to pull of that Keiko vibe, which works out well with your voice, but it tends to sound a little forced for the sound. I am very proud that you can hold those notes without going out of pitch. Like I said, not a lot of singers do that. I mean, that is Hikaru's problem. She goes flat when she holds out the notes too long because she has trouble breathing (perhaps from nervousness) but still, over all it is a good job, I have HEARD worse. I mostly applaud your efforts, but you did call for criticism. But in conclusion.
Keep up the good work.
