I was putting together a Kalafina and Kajiura Seasonal Playlists and just wondering:

what songs make YOU think of Certain Seasons?

hmmm. .when I listen to "Blue Clouds" and "Guess How Much I love You", I can only think of Spring. That's all I can think of now.Is my answer acceptable?

Yes perfect. That is what I am looking for. Just looking for what music (especially Kalafina) music makes you think of seasons. I personally get a Fall feel from Hikari no Senritsu and Fairytale. I want to know everyone's own views.

For Kalafina songs: Red Moon, Fairytale and Kagayaku Sora No Shijima Ni Wa is Winter to me.Hikari no Senritsu is Fall while Sprinter is summer.I dont know, but it is based on the mood of the song for me.Akatsuki no Kuruma is winter and Honoo no Tobira would be spring. Those are just some of my top favorite vocal songs by Yuki Kajiura.

snow falling and Seventh Heaven remind me of winter, obviously. fairytale reminds me of autumn. Eden reminds me of spring.
In fact, many songs from KnK remind me of winter.

Oh I've never seen her songs from this point of view. It's rather hard to reply. I should think about it more carefully :confu:

Well, I suppose we're not discussing songs like March, Winter and Kugatsu here? :XD:

Hmm... to jump the train...

Summer
Piano
Yasashii Yoake
Senya Ichiya

Autumn
To Nowhere

Winter
Hontou no Mono (Velveteen Rabbit)

That's what popped up in my mind atm, will be adding more to the list by and by. :tea:

Re:

seventh heaven and snow is falling for winter. Mune no Yukue and Ashita no Keshiki for spring. Hikari no Senritsu for summer. Natsu no Ringo as autumn... even though summer is directly mentioned in its title. :XD:

For some reason, I can't decide on Magia and sprinter. :desksweat:

Agreed~

The more I listen to Storia and Lacrimosa the more I think they sound fall. I guess because of the PVs and the colouring they use, but the "colours in the song" as well.

Why not? :ayashii: it's pretty obvious!

^ Well...

The ending part, after 'mahoraba', has a feel of rebirth and joy to it. It's in a major key, it swells louder and louder, before it hits the final chord. Rather like the first flower bursting into bloom, I think. And aside from that, the entire song is rather dreamy but still very dramatic and emotional. I'd say that it's more of an early spring mood, about the end of winter and the return of warmer days.

Just my opinion, though. I'm sure I'm reading too much into it :XD:

Probably it is because I watched the seventh movie of KnK, and the whole atmosphere of the movie is of winter (including snow falling at some points), I can only think of winter whenever I listen to it. Also, the fact that snow is mentioned in the lyrics only corroborates this idea even more.
I don't know, but whenever I think of Seventh Heaven, I don't take that last part much into consideration, since that is basically finale added to the "true" Seventh Heaven. Your point makes sense, but maybe my perception of "spring" makes me think only of "happy" things and hence I can't associate Seventh Heaven to this specific season. Maybe if it was autumn...

^ Oh, I'd forgotten that snow is mentioned in the lyrics :spotlight:

Since I haven't seen any of the movies, I don't have much of an idea of the context they were used in. I basically just got my ideas from the music itself. Then again, you've got a point...autumn might fit with Seventh Heaven too. Maybe any season that has a big change in it...

I am so happy that people are positively receiving this topic. I thought it was interesting.

I get a Fall feel for Parallel Hearts and Toki no Mukou, but stone cold, its hard, i am trying to figure out that one.

^ It IS interesting. I've always thought of some songs as pertaining to certain seasons, but never consciously considered the idea until you brought it up.

Also maybe it's just me, but I'm having a hard time imagining Kalafina songs in the "summer" category. I mean, I've always thought of their music as having a melancholy feeling, and even when it's a lighter song I label it as "spring". Because to me, summer is about sunshine/blue skies/hot weather/ice cream/relaxation/high spirits/general happiness, and I've never gotten that feeling from Kalafina music.

I've been pumped up and in like Kickass Epic Mode, but that's not really the same thing. :XD:
