From the list I only recognised Kalafina and LiSA.

Gacharic Spin are there too, they just announced it.

Their Japan Expo performance was great fun, would recommend.

Kalafina, Capsule and Fujifabric... lovely lineup indeed!

That line-up is actually better than most music festivals we have over here! :TdT: So many of my own faves there: Kala, Capsule, Boom Boom Satellites, Acidman, Maaya Sakamoto...what an epic way to see in the new year!

I think wowow will be broadcasting this? Which will explain the flowers at the live tour 2014. ;_;

Wow those black dresses... the shoes/boots match. I wonder if they stick those net/webbing thing on :XD:

Also I'm a little confused about Keiko's hair colour. In some pictures it looked as if she dyed them back to black, but in others her hair appeared to be the same brown. So the question is... what exactly is the colour of her hair now? :XD:

High chance of Chinese/Jpopsuki having it if they do record.

...
So many on that list I don't care about.

^ Eh ? Her natural is black for sure, so the dyed one is the brown ;)

LOL that's not what I meant. I mean, in all her recently taken photos sometimes her hair looks black, other times brown, so I'm a little bit confused as to which colour she's sporting now. For example...

It's brown here...

But it's black here...
:nophoto:
:nophoto:

Maybe it's the stage lighting making it look really brown when it's actually black... but under the same lighting Hikaru's still appear as black :confu: Or maybe it's a combination of both black and brown hair (black at the top, brown at the bottom) that makes it look different under different lighting conditions :confu:

Or maybe there's something wrong with my eyes and I need to go for a check-up :XD:

Anyhow sorry for the off-topic post

Was seeing on twitter that some people were shocked to see Kalafina performing. It's partly because they're anisong artists, but it also seems to be because some think they're kinda out of place there. Turns out, this is a rock and jpop music festival.

I'm curious as to what Kalafina will choose to perform, a guaranteed Ongaku (please don't broadcast this again) aside.

Maybe they'll do Mata Kaze ga Tsuyoku natta?!

I just hope they don't do believe.

they might sing heavenly blue because the japanese seem to like the song, plus it's one of their more standard-j-popish song. or maybe Magia.

I don't really think they're out of place. Sure, they started out as an anisong artist, but they seem to have gone on further than that. I'd say they're starting to become their own thing despite still doing anisong. Also how would you describe them genre-wise outside of j-rock/j-pop? I'd say they cover both aspects depending on song, aside from various other aspects of other genres. Songs like Destination Unknown and Obbligato are most definitely rock, I'd say.

The whole line-up's pretty eclectic overall, so I don't forsee them being seen as out of place either. You've got other anisong artists breaking out into the mainstream Jpop like Maaya Sakamoto and LiSA, but then there are the BBSs who are rock/dance crossover and Dir en Grey who are heavy rock/experimental metal!

As long as they don't do an anisong setlist like at AnimagiC or Paris Expo - which I don't think they'll do anyway, because they're playing to a different audience here - they should be fine.

An amusing little detail: the site seems to draw particular attention to the fact that crowd surfing/stage diving isn't allowed. Presumably that means hardcore rock fans might get some funny looks if they made a moshpit during Kala's set or something. :XD:

That's the general feel of those on twitter, not I. One would assume that there are quite a number of people whose exposure is limited to Kalafina's anison. And I'm pretty sure it's partly because Kalafina has a very strong image of doing beautiful harmonisation, ballads, and definitely not rock. Besides, this is a very mainstream event. It's mostly expressing pleasant surprise to see Kalafina invited; it's not negative. I was just curious as to why people would think them out of place, and arrived at that answer. I'm excited that more people will get to hear the Kalafina that we mostly only hear in albums. They're not bound by the need to sing anime tie ups, and it exposes even more people to their songs.

I do feel that SME has been pushing Kalafina very hard, trying to expand the fanbase beyond anime fans this year.

I agree, with all the promotion and the Best albums, plus the Budokan appearances, they do seem to be pushing them for a larger, more varied audience, and I think they deserve it and can achieve that. Performing at a non-anime related festival should hopefully help that, too, and I think that we'll be seeing some positive feedback from people who haven't really been exposed to them before.

Here's hoping that it'll entice them to do a worldwide tour.

If you dont redye your hair for a long period, it tends to fade away. I dyed my hair red and now its dark brown, however, when i stand under the sun or some strong lighting, the red is visible. Since Keiko dyed her hair brown, maybe now it has gone to a very dark shade of brown which appears almost black under normal lighting. In the two pictures where her hair was reflecting the brown shade, the stage lighting was all over her where else in the pictures where she was under normal a florescent light, her hair look black. I dunno, this is just based on my own experience with hair dyes

Side note, isit me or does Keiko look somewhat tired in the recent pictures? Like i dunno but something seems diffrent. Is her hair thinner on the top? Did she change her eye makeup? Something is different in my eyes and i just cant pinpoint what it is!

^ Ah, I actually dyed my hair brown a year ago, but I got lazy to re-dye them so it's now partly brown (the lower parts) and partly black (the top parts), mostly black though. I was thinking that it might be the same in Keiko's case, but it's confusing because it still appears brown (the top parts) in the first two example pictures above - whereas mine is black no matter the lighting conditions because black is still my natural hair colour :spotlight: Oh well...

As for your side note, I think it may be because her fringe looks thinner now (compared to the picture in your sig). Can't comment on the makeup since I've never used any :XD:
