Hi, after watching this week's J-Melo programme which included some footage from Japan Expo in Paris including Kalafina (watch online via http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/index.html and see http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/tv/schedule/index.html for schedule ), I looked at the J-Melo web page http://www.nhk.or.jp/j-melo/nhkworld/index.html and saw a link to a survey "J-Melo Research 2014":

https://www.nhk.or.jp/j-melo/nhkworld/english/event/20140718_research_2014/index.html

I'd encourage all canta-per-me.net members to take part in this survey!

^ thanks for the tip! I have voted for History Maker(s) from YOI because... they simply made history ofc. XD

Submitted a character song rather than an OP/ED/INS song: "Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite." from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Wow really? The 100th anniversary? But it's so hard to chose one song xD

@Nehelenia I think that J-Melo are looking for a good story behind the song that the person picks for the survey - in my case it eventually lead to me visiting Japan and meeting the singer.

My first tough was voting HISTORY MAKER, but now that you mention it, both "Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite" and the anime had a great impact on my life. Haruhi novels totally blew me again, and I totally adore its philosophy. So many years laters, I'm still so impressed with them as the first day. Still waiting for a third season! And Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite lead me to know Minorin who's the most precious cinnamon roll on earth and I really want to see her someday ♥ Not to mention the symphonic version is GORGEOUS
But I think I'll finally stick with Lacrimosa. Because of Lacrimosa I'm on this forum, because of Lacrimosa I fell in live with Kajiura, and discovering her music felt like a fascinating jorney. And Kuroshitsuji was, and still is, a important part of my life. Yana's art, as Kajiura's, totally inspired me. I really wanted to learn from her as an artist. And also because of the anime I met a bunch of precious people I adore ♥ Even if at some point I get tired of the story, the good things it gave me will be always there. :dote:

Finally I decided on a song (got so many contenders - Tobira wo Akete by Anza from Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakasama no Chou by SNoW from Jigoku Shoujo, Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru by See-Saw from Gundam Seed Destiny, It's Gonna Rain by Bonnie Pink from Rurouni Kenshin, Heart of Sword~Yoake Mae~ by TM Revolution from Rurouni Kenshin, Sayonara Solitaire by Saeko Chiba from Chrno Crusade, and sprinter by Kalafina from KnK) but I finally remembered the one song that opened my path back into loving Jpop song and the anime that always made me cry whenever I think about it (more so because of the manga tbh).

I finally choose Tatta Hitotsu no Omoi by Kokia from Gunslinger Girl ~Il Teatrino~.
This is the opening sequence if any of you is interested (I still think it's one of the best opening sequence ever): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E6VlEJtsgU

The song is wonderful (one of my favorites from Kokia), the lyrics are wonderful, the anime is still one of my favorite because of the story and how painful it was. Kokia perfectly captured the girls wish (in one case, Triela - man I wanna cry now SHE WENT THROUGH SO MUCH PAIN AT SUCH YOUNG AGE HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO HORRIBLE - i got emotional even though it's fictional, sorry). Sadly I don't think Kokia ever performed this song live...? That's why on Animax Musix poll (2010, 2011, and 2014) I voted for Kalafina to sing this song.
