Or more realistically: a free-to-download EP and see how it goes from there. I had to teach myself how to use the Vocaloid software since I can't sing to save my life. :notlistening:

I've finished one track so far that turned out okay. It's pretty slow and float-y: https://soundcloud.com/touch-the-parallel/translucent-heart-ep-ver

There's another one that I'm still trying to sort out...mixing vocals is trickier than I expected, and writing lyrics isn't easy either. I want to try out a more upbeat "CAN YOU HEAR ME, WEMBLEY?" rocker next, complete with dueted vocals and foot-on-the-monitor-speaker GITAH SOLO to go with them, but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself!

I'll post more as they're recorded if anyone's interested.

I like it. Sounds pretty relaxing, and the vocaloid doesn't sound annoying.

Did you write everything by yourself?

@Kowz thanks for your kind words! Yeah, I deliberately chose the Megurine Luka software over Hatsune Miku because I preferred her more 'grown-up' voice.

I had to do everything on my own - guitars (the Japanese Jazzmaster that's in my profile pic, though a Fender amp), bass guitar, percussion and vocal programming. The trickiest part was the guitar solo, because I was using an e-bow and a distortion pedal to make it sound like a violin, but getting all the levels balanced was hard. I'm still learning really!

Whoops, I forgot to reply :ohoho:

I didn't know something like the Ebow existed. I learn something new everyday!

Anyway, keep posting your stuff, Martin. I'm interested!

This sounds great!

I could not sing either, so I asked singers for my album. It is not that hard to get people to sing for you, I noticed. It is good that you now have a track to show off your skills. You can first finish the next instrumental and then find someone to sing it. If you want, I can suggest a few people who are A-MA-ZING.

@RaveD : good point. After the time and effort I've put into learning Vocaloid, finding someone to sing the words would probably have been easier!

Another track is (kinda) finished:

There's still something wrong with the mixing levels because the vocal sounds a little garbled and hard to hear, but I'm not sure what's causing it, so sorry about that. :confu: I was able to try some new things with programming the drums though, plus I had some fun with my new guitar amp so it wasn't all bad! :XD:
