Identifying singers in Yuki Kajiura songs!

grunty

I have reached Yuki nirvana
Who needs confusion? Let's go!

KALAFINA

ARIA Does Maya sing in it?
Kajiura's tweet during THE BEST listening twitter event says no.

fairytale Does Hikaru sing in it?
Yep. Clearly in the kajiurago bridge, some backup and I believe she's doing all the falsetto harmonizing throughout the song. Audio evidence here.

Lacrimosa Does Hikaru sing in it?
Yep. In the kajiurago and clearly with Wakana during the bridge.

sprinter Does Maya sing in it?
Yep. Singers breakdown here (for the main parts).

BACKGROUND MUSIC

fate to zero Who the hell?
My bet is Yuriko on main chorus, Eri on solo improvisations. However I do think we'll never know for sure unless Kajiura herself gives us the details. :P

this day, and never again Who's doing the solo?
To me the solo part is clearly sung by Yuriko. Dat vibrato man.

Any other or more detailed explanations needed? Or maybe some post formatting suggestions?

What about who sings in the climax part of "This day and never again" (02:05 +) Yuriko, Eri or Wakana ?

and also who sings in "Fate to Zero" Eri Itou or Yuriko ?

On those two unfortunately I cannot back up my opinion with any solid evidence.

Thanks Grunty.

Without a doubt, it's Yuriko.

and also who sings in "Fate to Zero" Eri Itou or Hanae Tomaru?

Yuriko at the beginning, Eri the wailing voice, the rest is probably a combination of all three or Hanae + Yuriko or Hanae + Eri.

I think you don't need one for sprinter because Maya has a lot of solo part in sprinter. Other than that, I agree with all regarding Kalafina songs.

Lol @ the people confused. Agree on "this day and never again" because Yuriko's vibrato is really distinct. I got one. In recording version of ongaku's reffrain, does Wakana sing higher harmony along with Hikaru, melody along with Keiko, lower harmony, or doesn't sing at all? And the same for progressive (excluding the end of every reffrain because Wakana clearly sings the higher harmony there). I don't really hear Wakana at all, actually. (Edited because I stupidly wrote Hikaru's name instead of Keiko lol, plus my thought.)

I don't hear Wakana at all. When singing it live, she's probably just lip synching.

Same with Progressive, except for the part you said.

Ongaku Trixy! -I- honestly don't hear Wakana in any refrain in the studio version. I tried manipulating and still only hear Keiko and Hikaru. Do any of you hear Wakana?
progressive If she's in the refrain she's totally inaudible to me when you manufacture an acappella version of the song. PS. Holy shit is the mastering shit on this track or what, lol.

Hi I just want to share about Wakana's part in Ongaku and Progressive

Progressive - In studio version I couldn't hear Wakana's part, but in live version she is singing together with Hikaru on the main verse which is quite obvious.

Ongaku - I can't hear Wakana's part too except for her harmony and the Kajiurago, in live version, previously i couldn't identify her vocal too but one of my friend pointed out that she is actually singing the same part as Keiko. Ongaku from After Eden live is more obvious in this case, I can hear there is two vocal for the main part while Hikaru is singing the higher harmony as in the vocal is richer compare to any lines with only Keiko's vocal.

Holy crap, I always assumed it was Hanae. Your samples make the vocals clearer, and there's a slight vibrato at the end of some notes. Hanae rarely uses vibrato in Kajiura songs.

It also sounds like the voice Kajiura used for Saints.

Do you remember where in the other movies the track was used? Then again I think it was always that same short vocal part.

Yes.

Movie 3 - 40:31 When Shiki is able to see Fujino's attacks.
Movie 4 - 32:20 When Shiki is about to kill the zombie thing.

And... that's it, I think. The other had a different arrangement, or only used the instrumental part.
