recently I was working on some piano compositions and I just came to my mind...whem yuki composes, does she compose the chord progression first or the melody. I know when I compose, I compose melody first... my hunch is that yuki composes the melody first then finding chord cause her melody is always dominating, unlike some songs like classical music where chord progression is normally more prominent. That's why I wonder? Has yuki sama ever mention about how she composes in any interviews?

You just need to ask her via her twitter, there's no way we would know, unless she answered it already in one of her twitter events.

^ No she said that it was taking her 5 mins to compose a song and I think she was referring to the kara no kyoukai ones (most of which didnt need much of thinking :XD:)

YK: Mainly I write tunes in my room with piano, but if I hit on a melody when I'm walking, I write it as a score. Though there are many ways to create music, I value the first phrase that comes into my mind
(usually it is a melody, sometimes a rhythm or like a riff of synthesizer), and regard the arrangement
as a decoration which emphasizes the phrase I want to express. I make arrangement in the way as above, maybe a matter of course.

I thought she was referring to Utsukushisa. :confu: The KnK songs sound like they need much more than five minutes to compose. :XD:

^ even the ones that are only SFX? If you listen to the regular knk ost and not the collection you will get what I mean :XD:

^ Uh... I didn't finish listening to the soundtracks. I got bored after a while because they were basically remixes of the same songs.

... Okay, I see what you mean. :XD:
