So this is what i did today:

As I felt somehow ill - i've catchd a flu - i decided to have a lazy day in bed with my notebook.

Also whenever i'm not feeling well i startup my YK-Collection for listening. It's just amazing how much it's helping my recovery. It has some real powerful healing vibes!

Not to know what to do i thought about testing my video filtering skills to the max. I grabbed the lacrimosa PV from the dvd to try to convert it to a real PAL-DVD. As you may know our TV-Norm in Europe is different to the one in Japan.

I took me the whole day on my little machine but now i've got an awe-inspiring and super-high quality video at 720x576 Pixel, 16:9 of course and true 50 fields interlaced.

I mean listening to YK is pure heaven, and watching an original PV is heaven squared, but this is, yeah, I think it cured my flu completely, hehe. Really, i'm already feeling much better! :XD:

Now my big machine is still chewing on an even bigger job: Interpolation of the same video to Full-HD!!! :nosebleed:

Some of the steps where: IVTC, cleaning of interlace-artfiacts, resize+desharp+warpsharp to desired resolution, motion-interpolated fps-upping to 50 frames progressive and finaly encoding as 50 fields interlaced DVD-MPG file.

I thought that maybe there's someone in cpm-land that has some material that's worth to pimp it up. The most famous life performances may one day be available on Blu-ray, but then I don't wanna miss any YK-Video not being in my HD-Collction so I'm already testing how I can do it on myself.

A wasted day listening to YK is never a wasted day at all! :confu:

lol I thought that it was a spampost by the title :XD:

sorry but my laptop cant handle 720p video since it lags when plays them. But when I get a better one I will let you know. I have some request, FJY's studio performance video of Akatsuki no Kuruma. Its so hevently yet it doesnt have a good enough picture quality. Finally there is a program I know that might help you. Its free but its too complicated for me to use all its functions, its called SUPER you can download it from here http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html from the link at the bottom, all the rest that stuff to convince you to buy it :XD:

EHHH??! :fwa:

I thought 720p would play back pretty decently on most mainstream PCs? :confu:

At least it does on my little lappy... which only runs on a Pentium T4200.

From what I know, 1080p is the one giving most people problems.

Same here. That's why I immediately looked at the date when you joined. :XD:

Indeed!

Sorry about the title, but my brain missed a few cpu-cycles yesterday. I hope this one is better.

For the playback problem: I suggest using the ffdshow decoder and set ffmpeg-mt for h264. In case your using Win7 you need a tool called "Win7 DS Filter Tweaker" to force WMP to use ffdshow. Or use Media Player Classic Home Cinema. This way i can play HD material even on my old machines.

And also sorry that i have been gone so long, but i went through some really deep shit the last few months. I'll need some time to catch up on what i've missed in Kajiuraland.
:uh..:

I have this one too. And I have already spend several hours trying to somehow crack the bad resizing that had happended to it. But i'm afraid that the max i can interpolate it is SD, cause it got only 240p lines worth of true data in it. Anything more will make it ugly.

I'm still searching for some HQ Versions of it. Best would be an original DVD-File. Mine is only a wmv-file.

Laptop are way worse than normal computers on video stuff because it have worst video cards in order to be cheaper. I have had problems with 720p videos in laptops too.

My desktop video card is 6 years old, so I bet it's worse than a laptop one. :uh..: :XD: I've got half the Madoka in BD rips with subbed commentary and they gather dust on the external HDD because watchging them properly (without the player constantly lagging) is troublesome. :wai: I can only upgrade it by my father's permission (it's HIS desktop, technically), but he's completely uninterested in a new video card.

Meanwhile, I must say I've seen laptops that apparently have solid video cards. :ayashii: These things launch NFS Undercover and GTA 4 with no sweat, which says quite a bit about their hardware.

Don't forget Hi10 too. :psst:

Are you sure you were not looking at gaming machines? :XD:

I think mainstream ones still have quite a bit to go...(except in 2D non-gaming environments).
