Hello everyone! I should start this confessing that I've been reading this forum for a couple years, but it wasn't until now that I decided to join it. I'm shy :spotlight:
So, my name is Sofía, I live in Uruguay and I also love everything composed by Yuki Kajiura ♥ I don't want to bore anyone, so I will keep it short. My favourite things in the world are books, writing, chocolate, Bob Dylan and sleeping. I want to become a translator, and I will start studying it next year. I'm fond of learning languages; I'm taking the CPE exam this June, and hopefully will start Japanese (next year too). Meanwhile, I'm studying to become a copy editor (I think this is the translation for corrector de estilo, but I'm not really sure), and it's beautiful

I knew Kajiura's music because of my father (yeah, coolest dad ever). I had already seen Mai-HiME a while before, but didn't know anything about the OST. One morning, my father told me "You HAVE to see this, it's amazing". It was Mezame, from Live Vol. 2. And it was indeed amazing. Since then, I've been listening and falling in love with her music :dote:

I guess it wasn't that short :omgz:. Ok, I will end it saying that I'm happy to join this forum and looking forward to meeting people from a lot of different countries who share the same love for Yuki Kajiura's music!

A great kiss for you all! :chuu:

Welcome Sofia and thanks for joining the forum, many of us are also learning the Japanese Language (Nihongo or 日本語).

There are a few other members from South America but no-one from Uruguay that I can remember.

Please ask us anything you would like to know about Yuki Kajiura's music or music from those she has worked with!

Hopefully you can visit Japan some time and get to see Yuki Kajiura and her singers and musicians live in concert.

Thank you both! I was going to start this year, but I have a complicated schedule and it was not possible. Pretty much the same the year before.
I'm used to be the only one or one of the few Uruguayans in forums, we are just three million people :rain:
I hope someday I will be able to visit Japan! Is not likely, by now, but my cousin IS learning Japanese and I showed her some Kalafina songs... so... maybe it is not thaaat impossible :shy:

(Please, would you tell me how can I change my profile picture? I'm useless :imdead:)

^ To change the profile picture get to your name in the top right corner, select "Avatar" and then you can upload a picture e.g. a 200 x 200 JPG file with your browser.

Hi Sofia, nice to meet you! :dote:
Welcome and enjoy your time here.
Btw i agree that you father is the coolest dad ever. :goodjob::plot:

Now we can add uruguay to our world map :sohappy:
Glad you decided to join after being here for so long!

welcome here Sofia-san:hi: enjoy your stay at this forum~ :cheer:
waaaa your dad is sooo great! It must be great to have a YK fans family and sing/listen to YK songs together~
and my family doesn't know any Japanese song except that Kokoro no Tomo ._.
Errr about changing the profile photo... i wonder. Kuga-san's explanation is going well on my account ._.

edit: Daphne-san is having the problem too. Is every new member having this trouble...?

Thank you! That side of my family is lovely. My cousins and I grew up watching Miyazaki movies and sharing anime :sohappy:

Thank you again ^^ I'm glad I joined, now I must take courage and participate in a thread(?

I did not see it either. When I went to see Spirited Away with my parents, we were THE ONLY ONES entering the cinema, and THE ONLY ONES leaving it were my uncle, my aunt and my cousins. It was really funny. I don't remember which movie was the first, but I think it was Mononoke hime or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Both so beautiful...

Wow, so it was your father that introduced you to Kajiura's music. Interesting.
By the way, hello! Welcome to CPM! I started liking her music through Pandora Hearts, then I managed to do some backtracking and follow Yuki's music from there.

I only managed to see Kalafina live once, and I hope that you can manage to see them soon as well.
