Hey guys. Long-time fan of you-know-who that somehow just recently discovered this site. And what a helpful and informative site it is. But yeah, uh, I'm not sure how I should go about introducing myself on here. I mean, the fact that I'm a huge fan of Yuki Kajiura's music is a given, but I guess I'll try to elaborate anyway. There's nothing exactly noteworthy to speak of about myself regardless (like, I'm 21 and I just got my first job 3 weeks ago. that's about how interesting my life is), so I guess it works out.
I don't think I can call myself a hardcore fan yet, but I've been a fan of Kajiura-sama ever since first watching .hack//Sign on Adult Swim back in...(have to look it up)...2002. Wow, 11 years ago. Something about that particular soundtrack has always stuck with me - actually, you can say that about most of Kajiura's songs; they're memorable, and powerful in ways I can't even begin to explain. I'm not sure where she gets her inspiration, but that brain of hers is truly blessed.
My favorite Kajiura work is probably that of Kara no Kyoukai. I could listen to music from that series literally all day and never get bored. If I had to choose a favorite piece, I'd go with M22 (it's really a damn shame that the tracks from this series are un-named) from the 3rd movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RodLJh3Bri8
I'm not really sure why. Certainly there are songs of hers that I get more raw enjoyment out of, but M22 (I like to call it Shiki's Theme) makes me feel things that I can't even put into words, y'know? It's a perfect melody to me.
Of course I have to mention her use of vocals - Kajiurago in particular. Before I knew better, I always thought the language was Latin or something, but after finding out that it's actually a made-up language with no meaning makes it even more meaningful imo; she can pour her heart and soul into those songs, and convey emotions that aren't restricted by actual words. It's just really unique and makes her stand out above other composers.
Phew, alright, I think I'm gonna stop here. Four paragraphs and I haven't even started on Kalafina. My god, I could write a book on how much I love those girls. I'm a relatively new fan of Kalafina, but they've already become my favorite band. I used to listen to metal and heavy stuff, but these days I just get bored with everything that isn't Yuki Kajiura or Kalafina-related. Kinda sad, right? Nah, they're amazing.
Oops, I lied. Ended up rambling again. Sorry about that. But yeah, lastly I just wanna say that I'm glad to officially be a part of a community that has some truly fantastic taste in music.
Also Wakana is best Kalafina girl.
Just sayin'.

In case anyone asks about my username, it's my real name; I got bored of using aliases online. That's pretty much it. Besides, it's easier if someone just calls me by name rather than something like DARKDDRAGONSLAYER FOUR-THOUSAND-NINE-HUNDRED-FIFTY-SEVEN, right? lol
