Hey guys. Long-time fan of you-know-who that somehow just recently discovered this site. And what a helpful and informative site it is. But yeah, uh, I'm not sure how I should go about introducing myself on here. I mean, the fact that I'm a huge fan of Yuki Kajiura's music is a given, but I guess I'll try to elaborate anyway. There's nothing exactly noteworthy to speak of about myself regardless (like, I'm 21 and I just got my first job 3 weeks ago. that's about how interesting my life is), so I guess it works out.

I don't think I can call myself a hardcore fan yet, but I've been a fan of Kajiura-sama ever since first watching .hack//Sign on Adult Swim back in...(have to look it up)...2002. Wow, 11 years ago. Something about that particular soundtrack has always stuck with me - actually, you can say that about most of Kajiura's songs; they're memorable, and powerful in ways I can't even begin to explain. I'm not sure where she gets her inspiration, but that brain of hers is truly blessed.

My favorite Kajiura work is probably that of Kara no Kyoukai. I could listen to music from that series literally all day and never get bored. If I had to choose a favorite piece, I'd go with M22 (it's really a damn shame that the tracks from this series are un-named) from the 3rd movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RodLJh3Bri8
I'm not really sure why. Certainly there are songs of hers that I get more raw enjoyment out of, but M22 (I like to call it Shiki's Theme) makes me feel things that I can't even put into words, y'know? It's a perfect melody to me.

Of course I have to mention her use of vocals - Kajiurago in particular. Before I knew better, I always thought the language was Latin or something, but after finding out that it's actually a made-up language with no meaning makes it even more meaningful imo; she can pour her heart and soul into those songs, and convey emotions that aren't restricted by actual words. It's just really unique and makes her stand out above other composers.

Phew, alright, I think I'm gonna stop here. Four paragraphs and I haven't even started on Kalafina. My god, I could write a book on how much I love those girls. I'm a relatively new fan of Kalafina, but they've already become my favorite band. I used to listen to metal and heavy stuff, but these days I just get bored with everything that isn't Yuki Kajiura or Kalafina-related. Kinda sad, right? Nah, they're amazing.

Oops, I lied. Ended up rambling again. Sorry about that. But yeah, lastly I just wanna say that I'm glad to officially be a part of a community that has some truly fantastic taste in music.

Also Wakana is best Kalafina girl.

Just sayin'.

In case anyone asks about my username, it's my real name; I got bored of using aliases online. That's pretty much it. Besides, it's easier if someone just calls me by name rather than something like DARKDDRAGONSLAYER FOUR-THOUSAND-NINE-HUNDRED-FIFTY-SEVEN, right? lol

Welcome to CPM, Tyler!

There is always something about kajiurago that entices people who get mesmerized when listening to Yuki's music for the first time. It was true when I first listened to her music through Pandora Hearts, particularly with Contractor and the Pandora Hearts main theme. Credens justitiam is now one of my top faves when it comes to these kind of music though, because it somehow gives me a boost when I am feeling down.

It may also be good if you can listen to music from other associated acts of Yuki such as FictionJunction, See-Saw, and others from different anime too. I have some favorites from the Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny series too such as "Anna ni Issho Datta no ni" and 'Akatsuki no Kuruma".

Anyways, hope you'll be able to express more by participating in our forums!

Welcome Tyler, good to meet you in chat recently.

Same, man. You know, I didn't get that email until a week ago. It took 11 days. Was starting to wonder if I'd ever get it haha.

Yeah I think everyone likes Credens Justitiam. It's so uplifting and has a great melody.

Oh, I'm familiar with a fair amount of Yuki's work other than what I mentioned in my initial post; Madoka, Fate/Zero, Noir, Tsubasa Chronicle, SAO, Madlax, Xenosaga 2 & 3..that's all I can think of right off the top of my head atm. I'm admittedly not too familiar with FictionJunction and See-Saw. Of course I've heard a few of their songs, but not many ._. I need to stop being lazy and go listen to everything they have to offer. Though I've seen Gundam Seed / Seed Destiny *puke* as I'm a huge fan of Gundam (have seen them all except Age, MS Igloo, X, and Victory I believe) and I love the songs you mentioned also. ^_^

And thanks. I have far too much too express. Glad I can do so here with peeps who appreciate this stuff as much as I do. :sparkleguy:

welcome to cpm fellow American :V:

THANK GOODNESS I'm not the only one
I just subconsciously gravitate towards YK playlists when I listen to music... :punched:

Well I guess I'm late but welcome to CPM Tyler, I enjoyed reading through your introduction.
The confirmation e-mail does often take quite a while. XD

My favorite Kajiura work is KNK too. Too many awesome things and songs are gathered into this masterpiece.
So much so that I find it really hard to pick a favorite. They're all great imo.

I like Wakana too. But I guess you could pretty much tell who is my favorite. *Nods* at the bolded text.
Also, I like your spoiler text man. Personally I try to avoid having numbers or symbols.

At any rate .. nice to have you here.
Do join us in chat if you have the time.

I am late too, but welcome! (I think there was someone who did not care for Credens, actually, but that is not me. heh) I am Liana, and love Kalafina and anything Yuki really. But Kala is my favorite. (Got to see them twice, at Boston and at ACen.) I've been a fan since .hack and Noir as well. I think Noir was when I was introduced, but I'm not entirely sure. I have most of her soundtracks and all Kala cds (well, one of each). But I hope you like it here, and you live pretty close to me. I am in Wisconsin. (Btw, I loved your spoiler thing. My name is pretty unique since I made it up, but still. I do get sick of that as well. heh)

Welcome Tyler, nice to meet you! :sohappy:

Judging from your avatar, you are a Persona 3 fan, right?

Well, enjoy your time here :XD:

Re:

Uhhh, so I kinda completely forgot about this thread lol. Sorry to those who were waiting for replies. I doubt anyone is going to revisit this, but I'll go ahead and reply anyway.

Ahhh very nice. Yeah it's just a really really good soundtrack. In fact it may be my favorite soundtrack ever, and I couldn't even begin to explain why. If I did try, I'd probably end up writing a book on it. >_>

I favor Kala also; almost more than Yuki herself. It's close. And ermagerrrd, I'm jealous of anyone who's seen Kalafina live. ALL OF MY JEALOUSY. Hnnng I would kill to see them live. Better take me next time :glower:

Very much so. I love me some Persona 3. Shin Megami Tensei, though, is my favorite video game series. <3

And thanks again, everyone. Sorry once more for the extremely late reply. I should visit here more often.

^ Persona Music Band were one of my favourite acts that I hadn't previously seen at Animelo Summer Live 2012:

Key Plus Words (Persona 4 OP4)
Beauty of Destiny (Persona 4 ED)

Kalafina are great as an acoustic live also: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4473

Keep chatting! (-:

I'm also big fan of Shin Megami Tensei series, and Persona 3 is my favorite. :sohappy:

But i just don't like the true ending :uh..:

So i hope for Persona 3 : the movie they make a better fate for the main character. :ohoho:
