Hello from a (very) long time lurker!

Mariko

I like Yuki
Hello everyone!

I'm a long time Kajiura Yuki fan, I discovered her music through Tsubasa Chronicle when I got into anime around 2008, she's been my favorite composer ever since!
I had the chance to realize my biggest dream in 2023 and saw her live during the 30th Anniversary LIVE vol.#18 in Saitama ❤️ I bought a few CDs there and finally started my CD collection, my goal being to get pretty much every album she released.

I've been using this website since 2013-2015 but I never really participated in the community, mainly because of a lack of confidence in my writing skills since english is not my first language. Anyway, I'm excited to meet other YK enjoyers, I hope we all get along! 😁

Welcome @Mariko - congratulations on getting to see Yuki Kajiura live.

Happy to look out for second hand CD's for others when I visit Japan (next time is in February 2026).

You're welcome Mariko!

Pleased to have you upgrade from being in the lurking zone, which proves your English skills have improved! Right?

We're looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights. Feel free to go all out! 😎

Welcome to the forum Mariko! So lucky to have attended one of her concerts! Its still a dream for me ^^;
The wait definitely made it very special when I was finally able to see her live! I'm sure that'll be the case for you too when the day comes :)

Oooh that's really nice of you! I might take you up on that offer, my collection is seriously lacking in See-Saw albums and I don't know when I'll be going back to Japan. I'm secretly hoping for a special Madoka concert, either for the 15th anniversary or the next movie.

Also, thank you all for the warm welcome, I can't wait to share with you guys!

If you can (and aren't obsessed with owning initial releases 2nd hand), buy See-Saw-Scene while it's still available. It has everything that was included on previous original albums (& more).

https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/See-Saw-Complete-BEST/dp/B086B4SLJL

You would really be missing (like me) the original single versions of things like Kiraini naritai (available on "early best" album, too) and Kimiga ita monogatari (available on single only).

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll get it while I can! I eventually wanted to buy the initial releases too, are they hard to get?

Well, they are out of print, except for the reissue of Dream Field (which I believe is mostly identical to the initial release, outside of the different logo placement on its cover). I'm not that into the 2nd hand market so I don't even know how often older See-Saw albums pop up and at what price/condition.

Ahoi Mariko ~ '^__^/

👉 Nice to see that you started becoming an active member of these forums. - I'm looking forward to see your posts often. =)

Oh yess Tsubasa Chronicle was.. music wise.. a very good project! Many wonderful melodies have been created back then.
Also this applies for the previously made .hack//SIGN series, which I like both of, music AND the animated series.

You did the right thing; When you have the chance and you can visit a "Yuki Kajiura live" event, grab the chance and do it. - I'd wish to also visit their concerts one day. 🥰
I've got a couple of DVDs and Blurays of their concerts, but obviously being there in person is on another level, I suppose.

As for the language barrier in forums, you can always use [ DeepL ] to type in your language, and let the whole stuff translate into English. (Works fine with Japanese too.)

Uhh.. if this does not exceed your transport capacities... may I hop on? 🤩

Eeeh? You have also not taken part? Always thought I'm the only one here.. ;p
Hmm... maybe we should have a forum meet-up at one of their concerts. 🤔
The only thing that could stand in our way is if there is another lottery. (Is this always the case?)

That's a great box! Got it myself and found it worth each penny. - It's a great collection. Got mine exported by CD Japan proxy service.
These songs you can listen to with eyes closed, and eeeeven though you know em all, it's a blast each time. They are so nicely made, also on technical aspects. They appear to have so many layers of instruments (and Chiaki on top :p).
I found this amazing and to be true musical craftsmanship. 😍
