Hello everyone, I am Yuki Kajiura (especially Kalafina) fan from Indonesia.

I am actually still a newbie about Kalafina/Yuki Kajiura. I started to listen to Kalafina songs one year ago because of recommendation of my senior. Since then, I often listen to their music almost everyday even when I am working.

I also buy several of their original DVD music concert and single. I think its first time for me to spend that much money for singers (Fortunately it really is worthed!).

One of my dream now is to attend Kalafina music concert, though I still don't know how to do that now :(.

The saddest thing is that there is no many people around me who knows about Kalafina/Yuki Kajiura so I can't tell or share news about them with my friends :(. Hopefully, I will be able to know more and share a lot about Kalafina/Yuki Kajiura with you guys here :).

Welcome Chemfirus, there are other fans here from Indonesia (and South Korea, is that where you are now?) so don't feel alone.

It's easiest to get tickets to a concert in Japan if you have a friend or deputy service there who can join the fan club for the artist (in this case FictionJunction Club aka FJC) and then they can place an early bid for tickets in the ticket lotteries. In my case my travel agent in Australia works with a travel agent in Japan who I pay to join fan clubs and bid for tickets to concerts.
 
Welcome. Sadly not having anyone or many people around you who know who they are is pretty common outside of Japan, at least.

I highly recommend seeing them live if you can, it's well worth doing. Don't expect them to be entirely perfect but if you get a show without any major issues (which is most of them, honestly) then it'll be something very special, there aren't many artists I've seen live which can create such a good feeling from watching a live performance like Kalafina do. Getting tickets can be a pain in the ass, however. I actually planned my trip to Japan because I had the opportunity to get at ticket, not the other way around.

I know the feel about spending so much money on an artist. If you really love them then it's worth it, however, and a lot of Kalafina's stuff is really nicely presented and designed. You said you were recommended them by another person, where did you start from? I'm interested to see what song or release they recommended you with. Practically their whole discography is worth listening to though aside from a couple of songs, so you can't really go wrong and if you haven't listened to some of their songs yet, I'd suggest doing so.

You also mentioned you're a Kajiura fan (that and it kind of goes hand in hand with being a Kalafina fan), which works of hers have you listened to? On that note, have you seen any of the anime/tv series/films that she's composed for?

I think that attending a Kalafina live is a dream most members here have. Just remember that things take time. If you can get to Japan I'm sure you'll see them. Kalafina almost always have a concert going on.

I'm not sure if you've heard of FictionJunction. It's a different project of Kaijura's but includes Keiko and Wakana from Kalafina. I'd recommend FictionJuction's Mezame or Hanamori no Oka as some FJ songs to check out.

Have you listened to any songs from Yuki Kajiura's other vocal unit, FictionJunction? They are just as great as Kalafina, and two of the members (Wakana & Keiko) are in it as well. If you haven't some songs I recommend are Stone Cold, Parallel Hearts, and Hanamori no Oka.

Really? I hope I will meet with other Indonesian too in this forum. And yes, I am living in South Korea now.

Actually, I have read a thread where you post a link about the first public ticket lottery opening where, sadly enough, close today. Unfortunately, I don't know Japanese at all (even more Kanji). I don't know how to do the bid and when I try to register for the ticket, it seems that I have to put a Japan phone number and address. I ask for my friends help (Who is staying in Japan) but they are not sure to let me use their phone number (even more their address). So, I decide not to bid and look for ticket from a ticketing agent instead. Unfortunately, I haven't had a positive response :(.
Is it possible for me to use a similar travel agent like yours to bid for the tickets? :D

Actually, when I know that they are having several concert overseas, I kinda hope they will hold concert in Seoul. Well, it seems they don't and I don't expect much for that actually...

Surely, I really want to watch them live. It would be awesome I guess.
Anyway, how do you get the ticket? Actually, I planned to go to Japan on September mainly for seeing their concert. But, I am not sure how to get it so may be I will cancel my plan :cry:.

Yes, its really worthed! Actually, my senior saw me listening to 48 group music and then we discuss about the quality of their vocals and then he recommend me to listen to Magia (stage performance). At first, I don't really interested with them. But, I still listen to their music several times sice then only for variation and start to enjoy their performace. Well, the first song from them which make me realize how amazing they are is when they sing "Anna Ni Issho Datta No Ni" :goodjob: And yeah, I have also listened their discography and I really like it!

Actually, I only hear Kalafina and FictionJunction project from Yuki Kajiura until now. And I don't really watch their anime actually (I seldom to watch anime).

Sure, I want and I will :D. I am so jealous of you. Honestly, I always feel jealous when I saw picture they are performing in stage because I am not and never been there :touched: Hope to see them soon. Actually, they have ever been to Indonesia but I am still not their fans at the time :( .

Yes, I have. I almost always listen to Kalafina and FictionJunction when working. :plot: I haven't listened to many FJ music but I like several musics I have listened like Stone Cold, Hanamori no Oka, In the land of Twilight Under the Moon, 時の向こう　幻の空 (sorry I don't know its romanji), etc... By the way, Wakana and Keiko is such an awesome duo :goodjob:

You're welcomeee!! I really wish you to see them, since it's really a precious time, the time spent with them çWç I experience the same feeling for all the lives that I can't attend, it's a sufference beeing a foreing fan!

I got lucky and someone here happened to have some tickets available. If it happens again they may well contact you if they know you're looking.

Their discography is rather solid, only a handful of songs I don't like and so many I absolutely love.

I used to watch anime a lot (I found out about Kalafina when watching Kuroshitsuji back in 2010, after all) but I don't watch much these days. I'd recommend watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica though, and probably Fate/Zero as well.

As for Kajiura soundtracks, Madoka and Le Portrait de Petit Cossette are the two I'd recommend most. It might be worth getting the YK Best of live albums, there's a lot of material on those from across numerous soundtracks she's done, so you get a lot of variety from her whole career. A whole bunch of FictionJunction on those things, too.

Are you aware of Momoiro Clover Z by any chance? I don't particularly care for the 48 family, but MomoClo have a similar setup (albeit far smaller) but are a lot more fun and enjoyable, in my opinion. You may well enjoy them, check out their newest album Amaranthus. I'll also throw down recommendations for Aimer, ClariS and supercell's Today is a Beautiful Day album if you haven't heard them but want more Japanese music to check out. Mostly because I want more people to be fans of them just like I do with Kalafina :tea:.

Unfortunately, I have tried to watch it, but the genre is not my favourite. However, I think I will try to watch Kurositsuji later. It seems interisting.

May be I will try to listen to it. I have ver heard about them but only a little and never hear their music. I start to listen to 48 group music because of my friend, though. He really likes them and often watch them a lot :D
