Hi everyone,

I was looking for a topic on the young singer Haruna Luna but as I did not manage to find any, I have decided to open this one.

I know some information about her was given in the topic about the singer Aoi Eir but I think it is better to create a specific dedicated one for Haruna Luna.

Haruna Luna was born in October 11th 1991
She early got interesting in singing. At 15th, She was selected to sing the main title of the web radio "Rental Magica".

But she started getting popular when she became a fashion model for the KERA magazine and the Marui shops.

She managed to be a finalist at the 4th All-Japan Anime Song Contest in 2011.
Her way met the Kajiura's one when she was selected to perform the ending theme of the anime "Fate/Zero" with the title "Sora wa takaku, Kaze wa utau" in 2012.
In November 2012, she released a new single "Overfly", title used for the anime "Sword Art Online" in which Yuki Kajiura is in charge of the soundtrack.
A new single "Kimi ga kureta sekai" was released May 15th of this year and is currently used as the ending song of the Japanese/French TV show "Japan in Motion".

Haruna Luna appears in the current season of the TV Show :JiM - Season 9 - first Haruna Luna appearance (the show is subtitled in French and some comments are in French too).

This year, Haruna Luna was one of the guest of the Sakura-Con but also of the Kawaii Matsuri

Live report at Sakura-Con on Kawaii girl Japan

The main title of her single "Ai wo utae" will be a tied-up with the animated series monogatari (which follows the Bakemonogatari serie)

Interesting. Thanks for compiling this, FxMacCobra.

I'm happy that both she and Aoi Eir already had their official VEVO accounts on Youtube, so that anyone from outside Japan can finally watch their videos.

I'm curious on how her latest single will be... :ayashii:
Depending on the circumstances, I may either try to buy it or just wait for her album to come out and buy its limited edition, like what I did with Eir...

Thank you FxMacCobra for making this thread. I searched the forum just a few days ago looking for a Luna Haruna thread. I thought there must be one, Yuki co-wrote her first single ... but at that time there wasn't.

Your 'official site' link calls up her Spacecraft profile. She has another web site which Sony seem to think 'official'

When this photo turned up in KOTOKO's blog a few weeks ago it was something of an eye opener. KOTOKO is 150cm.

She release 1 most single resently

you can hear samples here http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/?70007032_SE ... 1311_02SFL (and you can probably find the whole single by googling the title or product code) it came with a DVD with PV and various "making of" vids for the photoshoot and the PV.

About the songs, they're not bad but kinda mainsteam, the best is track #3 for me

edit http://www.hikarinoakariost.com/2013/05 ... ureta.html :plot:

#3 is kinda Sound-horizon-ish since it has some haruna speaking in the beginning, oh and #1 turned out good, #2 isnt bad too.

Wasn't she like the only other singer they had, besides the boy band? So it's only Wakana now?
and Yuuka.

SC already removed the Singer/Music Artist Section on their website (I think what they called Space Craft Produce or some sort). While Wakana and Luna is only listed under FC

I feel the refrain drags the whole thing down to rather unimpressive levels. Shame since I enjoy the Halloween-ish/Twisted-Wonderland-ish mood and verses. And is it me or do the vocals feel too loud?

Also HS Record... plz2include instrumentals on singles. Thanks.

I saw what you said immediately and agree for the most part.

The song had interesting movements at the beginning but the chorus became more cookie-cutter anisong, betraying the interesting build-up. I think the composer(s) ran out of ideas when it came to the chorus. Maybe a little key change or going to half-time and digging deeper into the "creepy vibe" would have been a better direction. So, yeah, a time signature change would have been preferable.

I think of Ado's songs as a better example of singing these kinds of "wonderland-ish" (as you put it) songs. Even if some of her choruses are singalong style (maybe more for the listeners to be able to join in), her vocal delivery and unexpected tonal shifts keep it close as interesting as the crazy intros and verses.

That said, I enjoyed the song for Haruna and think it would be interesting to play live.

This discussion reminds me of one Kalafina song I felt frustrated by that started with a really dark/moody minor verse that was hinting at greater things, but the chorus modulation turned into this poppy, happy major key thing that changed the tempo but fizzled out the epic feeling of the song. It felt like two different songs. I just can't recall at the moment the name... 🤔

Fantasia maybe? XD
And I personally really love the switchup in fantasia. At least now, I don't remember how I felt when it originally came out.

It's probably "fantasia". In fact I'm pretty sure it is.

I haven't really gotten used to the song. It's like if "magia" had a major/poppy chorus: interesting but also, why? 🤣

Why not? I'd argue fantasia's transitions to the refrain and back are actually way better executed than a whole lot of Kajiura's songs.

Edit: I also may have a hot take. I do not know if it's because of how much I've listened to "Magia" at its time but I like "fantasia" more. XD

You're having Magia-fatigue, lol.

Anyway, fantasia just didn't click with me. Though I actually really liked the way the pre-chorus and post-chorus served as connective tissue to- and from-the verse (in the same minor tone as well). And the bridge with Wakana soloing is excellent and also the guitar solo.

A nice-fast paced song it is, just that heavy tonal switch...
