Depends on the family, I guess. For my family, I only get them from my own parents. Most of my relatives already don't give red packets because I'm already old enough to be working (partly also because I'm based abroad).

For the uninitiated, abalone is a delicacy served up every Chinese New Year and during special occasions. It's also VEEEEEERY expensive.
