Watched it today, kind of surprised by the quality and it is as disturbing as the manga :tea:
Looks like they changed the protagonist from the Tadashi to Kaori

Waited for it so long so I am very happy to say it was a fantastic adaptation of the manga - a surprisingly close adaptation despite the changes even. That of course means that some things I didn't like in the manga were still here but the good outweighs the bad. :P

Not bad :ayashii:
but... Is that the end of the Story or there is more?.
looks like a cliff hanging ending, so Humanity is doomed in the end?
:uh..:

That's all there is. They are trying to find a cure for the disease/germs in the manga but it ends at the exact same spot - a number of immune people gathering together.

Actually, the anime ending was more fulfilling than the manga to me.

Agree and they managed to put in most of the details despite having only about an hour

I was expecting something much better...
So why didn't the girl become one of these disgusting green gasy things? She was hurt by a shark or something too... The hentai scenes were unnecessary, really, and what was that ending? Guess we are doomed?
Also, my somach wasn't made for this kind of anime, it was really gross in the second part...

That's why I still haven't watched it :vortex:

The ending reminded me a lot of the ending to Kairo (Pulse)...I wonder if that was intentional.

The manga was a sick and twisted gross-out B-movie type of story, so in that sense at least the OAV does that well. Swapping the role of main character was a wise move and gave it a slightly different emphasis.

Still, it could've been better. I don't think my fave scene in the manga was included at all:
it's a scene on a beach where people escape out of the water to escape a shark, but it scuttles ashore after them on the mechanical legs and eats them anyway!
Moments like that were grimly hilarious...the dark, slightly warped humour was one of the things I loved about the original story. :plot:
