Go Shiina & (notsomuch) Yuki Kajiura to compose for Kimetsu no Yaiba (S4: Airing May 12)

^Thank you for that, and the earlier post with the meaning. It was cool. I wish I knew Japanese well enough I could just listen to a song without reading the lyrics. One day.

Well these were very substandard PVs. Flashing warning, too.

In the end, I like the start of the refrain in Shirogane and that's about it. The last solo before the final refrain has some nice parts too.
Full song is hard keychanges galore.

Eh, pretty good. This is something more mainstream, but coming from Kajiura, I'm pleasantly surprised. First line from the verse still sounds a bit like "stone cold" though. Unfortunately, the interlude doesn't really elevate the track to another dimension but I don't mind this time (btw Akeboshi's interlude has grown on me). From all LiSA x Kajiura songs, I think this is the most concertable. Now I can expect LiSA in Vol.#17. Just gimme da tickets already! #170

Kajiura really needs to hire different guitarist when composing songs back to back. Korenaga's "freestyle" is so predictable at this point. I guess every Kimetsu ED we will get different background vocal which I appreciate(FBM-from the edge, highway star artist-shirogane). Personally, Akeboshi>Shirogane.

Watched the PV again.
Those hard key changes are just terrible. Like what even is that between the 1st refrain and 2nd verse?
In the 1st verse with harmonies I think I'm hearing Chiaki in my head rather than "stone cold" or anything else. But I'm not sure if it's a particular song or not...
Still don't care for this song.

The song is not bad. I like that it has a consistent tone compared to Akeboshi, though that song has higher highs than what’s here.

Second about Korenaga, and you could really say that about the whole FBM.

Yeah, I like the chorus, but it does remind me of Sword Art. Like something from that time. The verses are a little too choppy for my tastes. I like Kore's playing in this more though than the other songs recently.

I like the woah oh oh and the refrain, but overall it's not very memorable.
I'm usually not too bothered by key changes, but the one after the first refrain was very WTF.

Not really relevant, but the drawing on this plane is the one from the soundtrack that’s why it caught my attention.
« The TV anime and its accompanying soundtrack will also be available as part of the in-flight service's video and audio programming. ».

More relevant but maybe already known, Kaori Oda is the other vocalist on the chorus of Shirogane. She seems to have sung it with the Lives in mind, so .. Vol.#17 gogogo

@grunty yes and it confirms that only Kaori Oda & Shuhei Kita joined the Wowowo part.

I like the lyrics display. Unfortunately the lyrics of Akeboshi don't include the few words she says during Korenaga's solo.
It's : "Taiyou wo... [...] wo...". I hear Mangetsu but I'm just a pigeon.

Akeboshi TV size is slightly different in the beginning too, I just noticed it with the mp3 file (didn't pay much attention to the opening scene).

Certainy sounds like "mangetsu to". Whether that's any Japanese I don't know. ^_^

Off topic but the mastering on these hirez files is shite.
At least when they released Karafina albums in hirez they were less compressed than their CD masters.

Oh nice haha I'm not used to editing techniques.
Trying to decipher what she says reminds me of those audio-files during language exams, where they add noises such as a plane reactor firing up so you can't hear correctly. Maybe we can suggest them to add Korenaga next time...

Interview on Natalie Music: LiSA's powerful collaboration with Yuki Kajiura

Achtung Papagei ! Read my translation with caution since I was wrong* about the supposed contest in the previous interview.
*to make it clear, a japanese friend of mine said that there was a contest but I think he didn't pay much attention reading the article. I've sent it to another friend and she said that it's just phrasing, with LiSA stating that "such a great song was an absolute win!" *Hulk Intensifies*.

from the edge
- Kajiura composed it having Freddie Mercury in mind.
- Making a song with different approach between them was an adventure (notice that JUNNA also used this word).

Homura
- She wanted a ballad and asked it to Kajiura.
- The lyrics Kajiura wrote first were too sad for her and her fans, so she added a bit of lyrics about hope.

Akeboshi
- It was really challenging following Gurenge. So she wanted to do one more song with Kajiura, thinking that her dark tone would fit.
- She was so surprised with it. The guitar riff intro is like a train running, the chorus is like being in a dream.... she thought it as a "divine work".
- Falsetto, a lot of vocal variations... Having a loud instrumental sound made her voice easier to shine.
- Audiences were surprised with Akeboshi, which is very different from her other songs. Especially surprised because the verse and chorus are very different. She doesn't show herself here, instead this is Kajiura's world.
- Usually, her clips don't depict the shows. But since Kajiura's song was clearly done for the show, she decided to work in this way.
- The place of the clip (railroad) is the same place from Homura's jacket. Fun fact: it looks very hot with the flames, but it was very cold.

Shirogane
- this time, this is a song closer to what she usually does. Positive.
- It's like playing a game with Kajiura: you have to be strong enough or you will be eaten. So here she's being LiSA, not Kajiura.
- Unlike Akeboshi, the lyrics are full of hope for the next episode.
- What she likes about Kajiura's lyrics: several meanings, really coherent with the show... 車輪(くるま)is important (I don't understand why).

If there is a new opportunity to do another song for the show, she will do her best just like with the previous songs. She doesn't include Yuki Kajiura in this last sentence, but she does it in the previous one... if this is any tease for the future.
