No.3: Photographing in the town of Boston
Because we had a really tight schedule, we could take a walk in the town of Boston only during that time on the final day. I found Boston an attractive town with plenty of greenery and buildings that look like castles. All of the scenery is beautiful. Even by just taking a restaurant as an example, when we took a photo in the terrace it was perfect for a picture as if it was a film set. It was really wonderful.
We found a back-alley that looked like you’d see in Hollywood movies, and for some reason Wakana and I frolicked there so much!! The pictures are treasures in my life! They are full of our strange poses (laugh).
No.2: Night cruise on ODYSSEY
I played “Titanic” by myself. I looked at the scenery of Boston from inside the ship and I got sentimental. I enjoyed Boston to the fullest degree. It was elegant time…
I danced with Wakana on its dance floor. Hikaru was smiling at us far from us (laugh). The dreamy time just flew by.
No.1: Our first overseas live performance
That was our first overseas live performance. I really enjoyed it. The audience moved us and had an impact on us with their amazing reaction. An unforgettable moment of Boston was born when the audience stood up from chairs!
With many people, I think, I spent so happy time that made me want to hold an overseas live again.

No.3: Clam chowder & lobster & hamburger
Speaking of Boston, clam chowder and lobster come to mind! So we were taken to a nice restaurant. We had rich-flavored clam chowder that delicious flavor of seafood dissolved in, and surprisingly big lobster that was sweet and felt elastic. The moment I started eating it, I thought I was happy to come to Boston (laugh).
Then, since we had come all the way to America, we thought we should eat hamburger and we had them at a shop. BIIIIG hamburgers and a pile of fried potatoes were on the plate a clerk brought us! Saying to myself “Well… (speechless) This is American size… certainly, if I had grown up on these, I could have been taller. I could have been 170cm (5.5feet)!” three members of Kalafina shared and enjoyed them.
No.2: Photographing in the town
I really enjoyed the photographing that was done while we were seeing the foreign town, because it was the first time I went overseas. Dressed dummies and accessories glittered. Among those stores we found fancy cafeterias that would make you want to have a long chat there, even though you originally intended to get a short rest. So fantastic!!
All of the places looked like postcards and photo books. When will you be able to see the photos that we took in the sceneries …? They are very nice. Wait till the time!
No.1: Concert!
No.1 is, of course, the live concert! I had been full of nervousness and anxiety before I left for Boston as that was the first overseas live performance of Kalafina. When I stood on the stage at rehearsal, I found it so large that I couldn’t see the audience who were in right and left sides unless I lean forward. Needless to say, I got more nervous to see the large site being filled with people at waiting time. At the same time, however, I was very excited because it was the first time we would share our music with that many people and we were in the surroundings that most of the audience had never seen nor listened to Kalafina.
Since the first song was “oblivious”, Hikaru kicked off the song. Next Keiko, finally Wakana joined me, then Kalafina’s performance began! I started the performance, trembling from the strain, but the mental distance between the audience and us got shorter the more we performed songs. And I gradually felt a sense of unity. While I was singing I found it interesting that the audience felt our music in overseas-specific ways, which are different from those of Japan.

No.3: Meals
(No.3 is) meals in Boston!
We had various delicious meals every day!
Chinese foods, Italian foods, American-sized hamburger and sandwich, and, naturally, We had lobster and clam chowder, which are specialties of Boston!
The lobster was so delicious that we went to the same restaurant twice!
Enjoying beautiful scenery and live performance of a jazz band, we had delicious meal at dinner cruising that Anime Fes staffs invited us to. We saw wonderful sunset on the deck.
However, I am Japanese. When I had Japanese food for lunch, I made it sure again that miso soup is the most delicious soup, even though I had been away from Japan as short as a week.
At any mealtime, it’s the best that we happily have meals with friends!!
No.2: Live performance
As it was the first overseas live, before the performance I shook from strain that was greatest ever. How should I say ― “tremble” is the most accurate expression, rather than “shake”.
I was impressed to see the audience enjoy the live in their own way. Some held hands and danced, others jumped up and down. There were some who made a heart mark with their hands and threw it to us. I was really happy that they smiled at us with joy. It was very happy live.
No.1: Meeting with many people
I met many people in Boston.
I met various people such as volunteer staff, and Japanese who were working overseas. They served as interpreter for us and helped us about everything we didn’t know and understand.
After our live performance, when they were moved to tears together with us, from the heart I really thought I was happy to come to Boston as Kalafina and sing. We met many nice people and Kalafina successfully finished our trip to Boston, thanks to them. We had really great experience. Thank you!
