What songs do you like more? The one sang in english or in japanese?
One of my most favorites songs are Liminality, In the Land of Twillight, Vanity,
Open your Hearts and My long forgotten cloistered Sleep.

I noticed they are all in English. Maybe I like them better because I understand them, I like the sad depressing mood in the lyrics.

Do you think there will be songs in english again or is every new one in japanese now?
And if someone knows, which was the last english song and when did it was released?

I like all the english ones, except March, maybe because they are so rare.
of course i like many japanese too.

Last english songs were released on Fiction II
http://canta-per-me.net/discography/fiction2

projects that have english songs are: .hack (emily ones + luminality), noir (lullaby + melody salva nos ver, maze, farewell song, secret game) tsubasa (tsubasa, you are my love), mai otome (its only the fairytale), xenosaga 2, 3 (sweet song, maybe tomorrow), elemental gerad (english ver of evelasting song), pandora heart's "everytime you kissed me), and after that we got no new ones. there are also the ones included in fiction I.

The probability of her making a new english song is really random. Last time (?) she wrote english lyrics was for the bridge of anna ni isshou datta no ni Kalafina ver.

nuu march is good

Don't forget about obsession

I think the reason we haven't gotten any English songs for a while is because her go-to language is now Kajiurago

For me, I would prefer the Japanese songs. Mainly because when one removes having to worry about paying attention to the lyrics, it lets me focus on the singers' voices, and how the harmonies blend together. Plus, I think Japanese is a beautiful language. For the English songs, I'm mainly just listening for how well they pronounce the lyrics (which is pretty well, for the most part).

I don't have a preference for the languages in her songs, but come to think of it, I do miss her English songs lol.

I think the reason that we haven't gotten any English songs lately is because her Japanese artists, particularly Kalafina, have become so popular that it is more lucrative to both her and the anime series to feature them instead of some virtually unknown English vocalists, but I really damn do hope she releases a few in the coming years. I would love to hear another Emily Curtis or Deb Lyons song....

Ugh, yes, agreed. March is horrible lol

^Doubt it. English songs were mostly written for soundtracks. Kalafina only sings OP,ED, and inserts.

If anything, Kajiurago is what replaced English songs.

^ I wouldnt talk for "replace" because, if you except .hack, all the other soundtracks which happened to have english songs, had kajiurago too (xenosaga, tsubasa, pandora hearts, elemental gerad). So I would say that she just doesnt feel writing them anymore

I enjoy both around the same.

The songs in English like "Aura" "In the Land of Twilight" "My Long Forgotten Cloistered Sleep" and "Ring Your Song" in particular are very great.

Overall I don't really have a preference of English or Japanese songs done by Yuki since they both sound very good. I think Kajiurago songs are the best because you don't have to worry about the meaning of the lyrics in those songs, and you give them meaning through how you listen to them it seems like. And the music itself is what's important to listen to in general.

Can't say for sure if she will do more English songs at some point in the future, but if there is a good Anime coming out that she'll compose for at some point in the future, depending on the type of Anime it may seem suitable to use English to her.

@Aurora3500 - Eri Itoh has excellent English diction (e.g. Ring Your Song) and it is worth listening to other songs she has sung for Yuki Kajiura:

https://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/ (search for Eri on that page, you'll find stuff from Pandora Hearts, lots from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Aquarian Age, Fate/Zero, Xenosaga III, and Rekishi Hiwa Historia).

What is the difference between a "soundtrack" song as you put it, and an "insert" song? I thought they were one in the same.

Soundtrack songs have more of a bgm structure, rather then pop structure (see the big intro in the world and in the last of twilight)
also these english songs didnt see a single release as most "insert songs" get.

Option C: Kajiurago.

Paradigm, Contractor, heigen (IMO Kajiura's magnum opus), KnK main theme, in the garden of sinners, frenetic and Madlax Mix are some of my favorite Kajiura songs and they're all Kajiurago.
