DVD Regions Enquiry

Hi guys, I didn't know where else to post this on the forums if there was already a thread, so I just decided to make a new one

I'm wanting to buy YK live vol #2 but so far they've only released the DVD version and apparently according to CDjapan and amazon.co.jp it's in Region 2 (even though our discography entry says it's region-free ) So I was wondering, has anyone here NOT in region 2 ordered one of Kalafina/YK/any other region 2 DVD and been able to play it anyway, either on a laptop or with their player? Or am I just going to have to stick with Blu-ray releases and be content with watching vol. 2 on youtube forever...

I bought the 2008.07.31 live:

and it plays fine both on my pc with vlc and on my blu-ray player (which is multi-region for DVD but not for blu-ray).

Most DVD players sold in Australia are multi-region.

^ thanks Kuga! Are all blu-ray players able to play multi-region DVDs, or is it only some models? (My DVD player is quite old so I don't think it's multi-region )

I don't remember having trouble playing vol2 with vlc on my MacBook (which is 5 years old)

Depends on the blu-ray player and which country it was sold in (mine is an old Pioneer BDP-120). If your pc has a DVD drive and you have vlc you should have no trouble watching it.
