Okay, I got my hands on the album now, and I am going to write my honest opinion about it right here, song for song. I don’t mind of you disagree with me, since I am only a single person :D
Well, here goes nothing.
As far as the cover goes, I was really disappointed. Seriously. It looks like a pizzaface of a teenager just spent 6 minutes on throwing it together. Compared to the Progressive cover, this seriously blows.
A white BG, Kalafina, a red moon and a crappy tree…. Seriously…. Did they cross a deadline, or did they blow the budget?
Booklet: Nothing special here. A lot of writing I can’t read….
Songs:
Red Moon: Epic song, Epic lyrics, Epic voices, epic everything. This song blew my mind, and I am ready to hear the rest of the album! This song makes everything so promising!
Hikari no Senritsu: Wow, this sounds unexpectedly cheerful for Kalafina. Really catchy and light song ~
Te to Te Me to Me: Okay, THAT WAS UNWANTED. I couldn’t make myself listen to more than two freaking minutes of that ****. Why is it eastern-themed? Why does Keiko’s voice sound like crap? Why did you even make this, Kajiura? Who even likes this song? So many questions, no answers….
Fantasia: Wow…. The start is sure weird…. That start and the music mostly doesn’t fit with the title in any way. The chours are awesome! I love the parts where they sing “Faaaantaasiiiaaaa” :D The chours are truly spellbinding. Too bad the rest of the song isn’t…. This would have kicked major ass if it didn’t sound like a bad trip in the beginning and in the gaps between the singing….
Haru wa Ougon no Yume no Naka: Such a gentle song… And sad…. Perfect for bedtime!
Kyrie: Major kick-ass! I love that it is more vivid than what I expected it to be after the first 15 seconds of the song!
Yami no Uta: Read Te to Te Me to Me, just throw in “but it is still somehow good” once in a while.
Hoshi no Utai: I want to use this when I am running! So energic!
Intermezzo: Dear Kajiura. Please make a 9 minutes long version! I love the way you have composed it and the way it is sung. But why, why did you only make it two minutes long?
I have a Dream: Meh. Filler-song…. Not good, not bad… Kinda generic….
Well, that was me being a critic for a while… I know I suck, but it was worth a try :D
