ClariS thread

This is sad news for their fans...I'm not familiar with their songs, but I know how disappointing it is when a band/group you like splits.

On the plus side, the full quote doesn't make it sound like a permanent thing. Maybe they'll work together again when they've got schoolwork out of the way? I can't say I blame Alice for putting studying first - restarting her music career might be difficult, but it makes sense to prioritise her education. Best of luck to her!
 
I must say, CONNECT aside, I do not really care for most of ClariS's work, but their alias concept was always sort of intriguing.

When you say "future Madoka" are you referring to anything definitive? I've only heard rumors, and from an unreliable source at that. Still, I can't say it doesn't make me excited. And of course, more songs by Kalafina are always welcome.
 
^ No I dont mean anything in partiular but I am sure they are going to make something in the future, with that being either continuation of the story from where "Rebellion" left it, since there are many hints that the story isnt finished, or anime adaption of the spin off mangas

Ah, I need to get around to reading all of those. I've read all of Oriko, and I own all of Kazumi, but somehow I had missed hearing about most of the others. Thanks for the links, by the way.
 
^Oooh that's a good news since I quite like ClariS. Their songs are catchy, even though most of them sounds about the same. Plus their vocal is quite nice compared to earsore like LiSA or Aoi Eir. Glad to hear ClariS is going to keep active.

I like ClariS but I'm not interested enough to look up their songs, I'm sure they'll all sound similar. I'm glad their voices aren't super cutesy like Morning Musume oh my god I hate that group... I hope they reveal their faces though, I've always been interested in them.

The new member's name is カレンさん (Karen-san) it seems. Not sure if instead of "K" they will use "C" when writing in English since it's ClariS. Karen? Caren? Claren? :XD:Eh? Wait, it's Alice who left right? Then why wouldn't they give an "S-ending" sounding name to the new member?

I wonder where the new member came from, and if she's someone the existing member already knew.

Well, they're still going it seems. There's new material out with Karen singing and frankly I think she's going to do a good job. This is good news, since I like ClariS.
 
^ The difference in sound is very little since Alice is still leading all songs.
I cant wait to see what they look like in LisAni, but I bet that part will not be broadcasted, as Sony loves to do

I believe they have already done a live once. It'll be behind screens? Unless they actually said they will be showing their faces specifically?? If you're talking about wanting to see what their live is like though, carry on.

How is she? Border only came out a couple of weeks ago and is fully Clara/Karen I believe. Unless you meant Clara is still the lead, because Alice is the one who left. Karen is still audible though and the change is definitely noticeable.

And yes, they have done a live before, but they used a screen to silhouette themselves. I'm expecting the same for LisAni, the whole mysterious aspect is kind of their shtick these days.

Also it might be worth editing the thread title now as the split isn't all that relevant any more and we don't have a ClariS general.
 
The new song from their upcoming Spring EP is out with a video, I REALLY like this song. Video is pretty cool too. The video seems to be blocked outside Japan on their YouTube page (no surprise there) but there's a version you can watch here: http://www.bilibili.com/video/av3936402/

I was going to skip this album originally since it's only this track plus some covers (albeit one of those covers is supercell) but damn, I love this song.

I still recommend changing this thread title to a ClariS general thread.
 
It'd still be good to have the title of this thread to just ClariS, since they are still active.

Anyway, new album 'Fairy Castle' just got announced for 25th Jan 2017. Guess I'll have both that and the new Kalafina live at the same time to look forward to. Also includes rerecorded versions of their Madoka themes as bonus tracks with Karen on vocals, that could be interesting. Plus it includes Hirahira Hirara from the Spring EP which is so good.
