best linux os for gamers

What is the best linux os for gamers? seen as its free and windows xp is getting old i was thinking of upgrading to linux on behalf on the performance and crisp styles of linux, so what i want to know is... whats the best linux for gaming? many thanks.

^ Hi, I run Debian GNU/Linux, but don't use it for playing games. A few others on this forum run GNU/Linux.

You could also run a dual-boot setup to get comfortable with GNU/Linux while still being able to run Windows XP natively.
