Well, I'm new of this BBS, but i'm using cpm.net since a couple of years ago.
Recently, I just watched again Madlax, one of the famous series Kajiuras work for. And, in the same way of every anime series (or others), all the BG soundtracks are not related on the OST released.

I noticed about 6/7 songs that not appeared int he 1st or 2nd Madlax soundtrack (as the 1st song in the episode 9th for example) and I remembered that the same way in NOIR (end of episode 22 or a very slowly version of canta per me and a canta per me less vocal) or in My HiME/Otome and many many others series where Kajiura works.

I saw on the Database of the cpm website that there's a file with the missing tracks. And I wonder if some other fan have made their research on it and if they obtain success in their task, or if anyone of you know a place where we can found'em.

Sorry if a post like that already exist, but it seems i didn't find it so ^^

MADLAX is probably the most neglected soundtrack out of Kajiura works - there's a lot of tracks that didn't make it to the CD releases (including totally unreleased tracks and alternative versions). A big shame, but there is really nothing we can do.

The file you speak of is probably the same file that I put up on Alexiels forum ages ago (should've been reposted somewhere here), but it's simply a quick rip of the unreleased tracks with all the dialogue and sfx.

I was hoping I could rescue some of the tracks using the 5.1 mixes ADV has created for American DVDs but they are absolutely HORRENDOUS and unusable. Rarely do you hear such a fucked up audio mix.

As for other shows and their unreleased tracks:
  • Tsubasa Chronicle unfortunately also has many unreleased tracks and a pretty shitty mix (though in a different way from MADLAX - Funimation really loved their reverbs in Tsubasa). Pretty much unsavable, IMHO.
  • The HiME shows don't have much unreleased material as far as I'm concerned, only alternate/extended versions of the released tracks. I did do an extended gokigenyou from Otome some time ago, but I don't really think there's anything more that could be saved since there are no 5.1 mixes available for the TV series.
  • Xenosaga III unreleased tracks have been ripped, though unfortunately many are shitty quality (the developer is to be blamed for putting 22kHz tracks in game).
  • Don't really know about Pandora Heart and Erementar Gerad unreleased tracks, but there are no 5.1 mixes to work with anyways, so doesn't really matter.

I am however slowly putting together a small pack of unreleased material from El Cazador so you can sort of look forward to that. Mind you, I don't think this will be a particularly exciting bunch since the OSTs were pretty darn good collections of this shows music.

Thanks for answering :)
Before completing, when i mentionned some missing tracks released on cpm website, I speak about them. Unfortunately, I listened them and even if some weren't unknwon by myself, 3/4 of them were Boogiepop and others songs.

I think it's possible to find those tracks. Some years ago, i worked as authorer DVD maker for an anime DVD licence in France, and when i created the DVD Menu, I used some file taken from sources master video. In these, it was possible to activate only the voices or the background or the soundFX (but it was pretty rare for them). I think it's possible for the lucky guys who have them to extract these missing. But I guess that so is about 1% a chance that a person can have these master videos sources ;).
So, you're right concerning madlax, some or very good sounds were missing :(. 4 or 5 years ago, I made a rearrangement of a canta per me without vocals. It was taken for an NOIR episode and compiled by myself.
you can find it here. But for the others I can't do as well as this one :)
