Magic Knight RayEarth (2026) music will be composed by Yuki Kajiura, Takumi Ozawa and Shiho Terada

Well....if this somehow went full Highway Star production:
OP would probably be still Yuzurenai Negai cover(That OP is still iconic imo) with the main casts vocal arranged by Shiho Terada
ED....for Ozawa? I'm not seeing Kajiura angle here but that 2nd ost is passable for a song I guess? Would be funny if this is Fictionjunction YUUKA(chorus: Kaida and LL just to piss off Hikaru lmao) and the title is "precious wishes"

Not to be pessimistic here but considering how her contributions whenever she is not the only composer, I would assume she'll just compose 1/2 main themes then arrange it then she's out lol.
 
Eh, yesterday we had no news, today we have news. I am going to be optimistic. :)

Plus, from my POV, I am always excited to see Ozawa have more output and I like Terada well enough as well.

My only thing is how cohesive it will sound.
Shiina's and Kajiura's Kimetsu parts don't sound like one project to me. (But also different musicians & recording teams.)
Terada's and Kajiura's ANTI-HERO tracks don't really sound like one either. (But this time same musicians & all mixed by Koiwa.)

On the other hand with Ozawa I have confidence they will work well enough together, even if each has different quirks, they have similar sensibilities. Like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UwoC-3LMr8 fits perfectly fine in any everyday-life music Kajiura world IMHO.

A new adaptation.
I didn't look into it but I presume it's going to be more faithful to the original manga. That's usually the reason they do a new one... or to promote something (even if they butcher the original again)...
 
I just remember photos from Kajiura working with Joelle some months ago when photos of Terada and Ozawa were shared too. So Joelle is here for sure.

Oh that's 111% Joelle in the first half of the trailer. It's the second track that seems to be Remi. I didn't mean to undermine your first post on Joelle's participation, just questioning her being the only one in the trailer.

No no, don’t worry. With my last post I just was trying to say that maybe Joelle is the one who performs the second part of the song. Or nobody took a photo to REMI that day lol
 
BTW, I'm not saying the second track is 100% Remi (sounds like her to me though)... just 100% NOT-Joelle, as far as I'm concerned. XD

2nd track is prob. Samadhi emphasis on their sopranos imo. I dunno how to explain this but Remi has those little vibratos which I find none in that trailer. I COULD BE WRONG OFC~

True haha so tired with those movie format anime taking forever to finish. I get it that its better that way for the peace of mind of animation studios but some of them are taking forever (madoka eizen pripri n new sao)....

I really don't think it's Joelle. Yes, she has a classical sound style and can lean into it (I actually feel she should have leaned into it fully during the slower first song in the trailer - taller vowels rather than going wide at times, which changed her tone).

REMI's timbre when going through higher notes and projecting (not just singing softly) in a lead context is unique. I was thinking Hanae at first because of the covered tone, then as it went on I locked in on REMI.

Hmm. I mean, if they wanted to (and were allowed to) experiment, then they could try working together on everything, or even split lyrics, composition and arrangement, 1 each between themselves. Although I don't think Terada is writing lyrics, so that would leave either Ozawa or Kajiura commiting to lyrics instead of music.
Would such a song happen? Probably not... but it could be a neat experiment for this project.

But my mind is kind of on the train of "is YUUKA really appearing at ykl22 for no imminent reason?" She could be but... sus. XD
 
Is it common for a new song to be performed in concert months before its gets used in the tie-in anime ? If yes then maybe we ll get an FJY song for this anime otherwise it ll be for something else.
 
Common? Maybe not. But I don't think it's unheard of? Maybe even in Kajiura world? Hasn't Kalafina in particular performed their new songs ahead of time?

Anyways, I don't really know TBH, but the last ykl22 date is August 9 for now (so that would be exactly 2months ahead) and Kajiura does have a history of announcing final tour concerts with new dates... We'll see. ^_^ Either way, what bliss. New stuff happening.

Does she use her guest choral groups for lead in songs? I am thinking about how it is preformed in YK lives.

Yeah, from the Christmas Special to the Tiny Desk collab, there's no way they're not working on new music. I feel Kajiura would want a proper intro to her first song with Yuuka in how long?

this is my feeling as well. @CloisteredFlame it definitely doesn't have the velvety softness of Hanae's voice:) especially the very beginning "let it be" sounding part makes me think it's not Remi , now I'm thinking it's neither xD If it is Joelle, it's gotta be the most Remi sounding track for sure.

Also see midsection "Fuscus the Vacant Colossus" and turn it higher and more hopeful version. According to @george1234 it's Joelle :p (https://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/fuscus-the-vacant-colossus/ ) same for "together we can defeat it". not dying on this hill tho thanks xd

Yuuka OP/ED could be epic, all the same exciting times. I'm so glad that Kajiura world is thriving on happiness:)

I wonder if the composers will join powers to write tracks together as well, could be interesting , though I imagine it will be a separate effort. It could be various arrangements of the leitmotif for example which I would count as joint effort and it can be cool.
