Hello everyone !

I'm a big fan of Yuki Kajiura and I followed this forum for a long time so I decided to subscribe ^^
I'm a french girl and I'm studying latin and ancient greek at university ( I've noticed that Kajiura-san was a fan of the Antiquity xD).
I saw Kalafina at Japan Expo last year and it was wonderful *O*
I like others Japanese singers like Sound Horizon or Akiko Shikata.
Sorry for my bad english, it's not really my cup of tea ^^

Welcomeee to CPM!!! I totally understand you, because seeing Kalafina at JE, was an unforgettable experience :plz:

Yeah this live almost made me cry, I was so happy to see them xD I hope they will come back in France with a real live *O*

Hello! :hi:
French, you said? I am currently studying french à mon collége (hopefully the accent and gender are correct... I know collége is the US equivalent of middle school or junior high). Anyway, welcome to the site! :goodjob:

The right accent is collège but the gender is correct :D (I'm a french teacher too xD so ask me if you want ^^ I'm glad when people studies french language )

I took Latin in middle school and high school; kinda sad my uni doesn't offer any classics. What works are you studying? There is a copy of Vergil's Georgics and Aeneid sitting on my desk, but I've already forgotten so much. sob

Do you have any favourite soundtracks by YK or do you mostly just follow Kalafina?

welcome to cpm!

Yes, welcome! (When I see your username I think of the ship from Farscape's name is Moira (Sorry can't figure out the accents)) I am Liana and have been here for a long time. I think even before it says since the site kind of crashed on us, but this is the new forum now! So please ask me if you need something, or george1234 or Kerahna. They are the two main moderators. (I am not one, just a huge Kajiura and co. fan. I love Kalafina as you can see. I am getting their new album this week! Also I've been to Anime Boston in 2009 with a friend to see them for the first time, and again in 2013 by myself at ACen (with a band but no Konno, the violinist, which made me sad since he's my favorite, besides the girls too heh). They have such a great stage atmosphere and are really really good live. I'm not saying they're perfect or anything, just saying my opinion. Hope you like it here! Yes, do you like See-saw, Saeko, FJ? Soundtracks? I love all. Have fun!

aki => Last years I did works on Virgils (but more on the Bucolics than on the Georgics and Aeneid) and Ovide's Metamorphoses. I studied the characters of singers in this two opus (I thought a lot of Kajiura's songs xD like "canto lamento")
Konno is also one of my favorite violinist *0* I want to see him in live T_T ( unfortunately there are no musiciens at JE :/ )

And I love all Kajiura's songs ( but I don't know all the works of See-saw unfortunately ) My favorite ost song is L.A (Yuriko Kaida is one of ma favorite utahime with Keiko). I have many songs I love for Kalafina, but I would say that my favorite is Tsuioku (and koibito no... more recently :D). I love B-sides songs *o* (like lirica, utsukushisa etc...). And of course I love fictionjunction too ( for example Himitsu, My long forgotten cloistered sleep, Storm, Gaika, I'm here...)

Liana_Ilia => Thank you :) I don't know at all Farscape xD Moira was the divinity of destiny in greek mythology (It is also the name of one album of Sound Horizon)

I wish we had been able to study Ovid more... we only translated a few snippets of his poems since he was the sight translation on the IB exam. Who's your favourite poet?
canto lamentoooo~
and what about quo vadis domine :P
btw what year are you in uni?
Konno is also one of my favorite violinist *0* I want to see him in live T_T ( unfortunately there are no musiciens at JE :/ )
Konno creates magic on the violin, I swear. The only Kalafina concert I've been to was at ACen, and ofc he was the only one of the fbm who wasn't there. one day...

Yeah what a shame, I've forgotten quo vadis domine xD
My favorite poet is certainly Vergil but I like very much Ovide, Porpertius and Horace ( carpe diem :XD:) too
It's my last year at uni (6 years :hide: )

I like Yuuka when she sings dark songs like I'm here, Kioku no mori etc... ( and I love her voice on the new Sound Horizon's album ) I love folkloric songs like Yorokobi and Hitomi no kakera too.
I'm a big fan of Kioku, Seijaku no, Anna ni, Yasashii Yoake and Tasogare no Yumi (I want to hear Keiko's version in live :nosebleed:)

I don't think I've read anything by Propertius, actually

SHE'S ON THE NEW SH ALBUM? EHH?? I don't really follow her solo career but I may have to check that out...
yes, her folkish songs are wonderful. I also really love piano (specifically, the live from vol.11) and destination (I have a fantasy of Kalafina covering this song shhh)
I'm a big fan of Kioku, Seijaku no, Anna ni, Yasashii Yoake and Tasogare no Yumi (I want to hear Keiko's version in live :nosebleed:)
plz YK plz release vol.12 we all beg you

I think so, in France they call this Master (after 5 years in university) :goodjob:

Yay a fellow Akiko Shikata fan! I can tell by the avatar! I love her so much, glad to see she is appreciated. Welcome to the board too (even though I am new too lol)

Any recommendations on an album to try by Sound Horizon? Some of the songs I've listened to by them are a bit overwhelming, but I like the compositions still. It's just very busy arrangements!

Hello Moira! welcome to the forum~
I knew, based on your username, that you've been listening to sound horizon too~
I love Yuuka's voice too in the newest sound horizon album and I'm glad she sings the thanatos nein track. Possibly, it's the only song I keep on looping since I'm burned out from the Elysion to Marchen melodies :knife:

@kansuigyo I recommend Moira album and Seisen no Iberia album because of the rich female chorus and harmony.
