New FictionJunction album "elemental" and YK Live vol. #11

My reviews:

Day 1 Most memorable are Elenore, MADLAX mix and inside your heart.
  • Elenore is very heartwarming and the combination of Yuuka, Yuriko and Rie Akagi's flute just makes it sound more superior than the CD ver.
  • MADLAX mix is a combination of MADLAX and Margaret. The best part for me is when Yuuka sing "Kestai moshiri ais". I think these two songs showcases Yuuka's vocal abilities.
  • inside your heart was everything I had hoped for. Everything just fell in place and nothing seems off.
  • Yuuka's cover of Yasashii Yoake is okay but I still wonder how it would sound like if Ishikawa Chiaki sang it. The instrumental side of the song was fantastic though.
  • Yorokobi had a great addition of violin and flute this time, I was so worried that they omitted the kajiurago in the middle but they simply move it.
  • Honoo no Tobira and Kioku no Mori Day 1 for me is better than Day 2.
  • I find the overture quite unique but I didn't like I'm here and destination as much as the other songs, this is the same for me as the cd one as well.
Day 2 favourites are Shizuka na Kotoba, blessing and futari.
  • I still think circus as the opening is best.
  • cradle was a bit weird for me, I feel like it didn't belong in the setlist and it was quite boring I'm afraid. They probably should move cradle to day 1.
  • Shizuka na Kotoba was great live, the ambience and feel of the song was elevated compared to the cd ver.
  • the accordion in blessing was awesome!
  • there's something about futari that captivated my attention out of all the songs in this live.
  • actually I prefer Kaori's background vocals in the Best Kajiura Live ver. of Seiya, it felt kinda empty. The setting for Seiya looked like it was Christmas special or something :XD:
  • and I was disappointed with Hikaru Sabaku. This is my favourite song out of all FJY song so I expect a lot from it. I feel that Yuriko's vocals weren't suited for the kajiurago for this one.
Making of the live:
  • It was really funny, there are probably three things you want to look out for:
    • When Yuriko's score sheet fell.
    • Hikaru getting frightened.
    • Yuriko imitating the accordionist.
Overall: Great live, much of the songs in Vol #4 were polished and improved. Some of the songs Yuuka toned down and tried to sing in a lower voice which I like.

Thank you for the review ! Can't wait to see this concert, and the making-of-the-concert- sounds HILARIOUS! Hikaru frightened?! Can't wait to see why XD

^:psst:It must be something amazing and funny!

I really want listen the live versions of Margaret & Elenore :touched:

Thanks for posting Madlax mix. I realised how much I liked this OST. Hope to watch the whole live as well:dote:

Only sampling the lives so...:

I'm here <3 Although I have to say this live arrange has a little too much violin from the start for my liking. It's softening the hypnotizing song too much.

I'm not digging Hitomi no Kakera on the other hand. Did they do it a little faster than the CD version? Not sure. Yuuka seems to be forcing it and rushing through.

Not a single closeup on Kajiura during Yorokobi bridge = fail.

I actually really liked Yasashii Yoake. Chiaki it was not, but Yuukas straight/kinda emotionless delivery was pretty darn interesting to me. Not sure if it was a good closer.

^Oh my goodness, thank you! I hope they do the same for FJ's concert! At least we get to watch it, those of us who don't have money. heh

Edit: the second part goes to a facebook page that says "Something went wrong" and there's no video. Strange.
